Re: Steel Shoots?

Brent, I hate to do this, since most of the time I think this answer is wholly inappropriate, but in this case it would be to your benefit to search for threads on the steel shoot. I only say that because there have been many newbys over the years who have been interested (including myself--I think ...

Re: Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

You guys are scaring the new facilitator, turning this into a discussion about moving the breakfast! :D Seriously, it is alot of work to move the breakfast--many restaurants have to be scouted out in whatever area (and no two guys ever agree on what area that should be), the management has to be tal...

For Sale Cheap! TV, Beautiful Sofa, 6' Table

For sale...cheap! We are moving and there are a couple things that are simply too big for us to move at our advanced age and/or don't fit into our new home, so we are letting them go cheap. Sharp 36" (diagonal) TV. This is the older style Cathode Ray TV. Works perfectly, with lots of convenient...

Re: Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

While I was initially negative toward the OCB location, I have seen the error of my ways. It has worked out very well, the staff seems to very cordial and not the least bit afraid of the fact that most if not all of us are likely to be carrying while there. It's turned out to be a good choice. And,...

Re: Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

Just a little history for you all. We started at Perkins in Shoreview (694 and Lexington) about five years ago, but they are so busy on Saturday mornings that they kinda' hinted that they would prefer we didn't meet there so they could take care of other customers. I never exactly figured that out s...

Re: Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

Mike, The 2nd Saturday breakfast was my first opportunity to meet any of the 'locals', and the experience was quite the opposite of the encounter you describe with 'the inner-circle'. Although it's sometimes tough walking into a room of strangers, everyone I met was open and cordial. Thanks for you...

Re: Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

It will be a privilege to control the name tags....... :P I knew you would grab that opportunity! :D But seriously, what HammAR said is exactly right. That is how this thing got started in the first place. I had gone to a lunch about five years ago with Joel and his inner-circle gang and it became ...

Do You Need a House...?

Hey guys, As you know, the time has come to sell our house. I wanted to give you a heads-up on it in case you, or anyone you know, wants a new place, since the house is terrific all around. The place is fantastically maintained, has absolutely no mechanical or construction problems whatsoever, is im...

Future of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast

Guys, As many of you know, I am getting ready to move to our Colorado home. Although the exact date isn't set in stone yet, it looks like it will be before the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast in July. That means that this next upcoming breakfast in June will be the last time I get to gather with you. A...

Re: Minneapolis Curfew in Effect

I just about laughed this morning when KSTP 1500 announced the news like this: "And Mayor Rybeck is advising everyone to do what he always does--stay away from the north side."

Re: Barnes v Indiana - resisting unlawful entry...

yah, really disturbing decision. Let's hope it is decisively overturned by a higher court. It is the kind of decision you would expect from a San Francisco court, not an Indiana court. It may just show how virulent the spread of this kind of thinking has become...and how much danger the America whic...

Re: Garage Logic against Stand Your Ground

I did hear just a snippet later where he happened to be reading an email from someone on the same issue (someone who disagreed with his stance), specifically on someone having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on legal defense, and then admitted that maybe "its more complicated than it look...

Re: Garage Logic against Stand Your Ground

Sorry--thought everyone knew! KSTP 1500 ESPN, Joe Soucheray, Patrick Reusse and the gang--always staunchly conservative, pro-gun, etc. When they come out against the legislation, I think it is fair to say that we are losing the marketing battle big time!
