Re: Newbie to reloading

My advice, don't be "scared," but if something does look, feel, or seem "right" stop and ask someone (people are quick to respond here).

Re: reloading stuff at Blaine fleet farm

Saint Cloud has started as well, the employees I talked to didn't have too much info about what all will be carried when everything comes in but they had a good selection of dies anyway.

Re: .223/ 5.56 Question

223 will be marked 223. 5.56 can have just about anything.

I've been using Lee Quick Trim works fine as far as I can tell.

Re: Questions regarding Unique powder for 9mm

What is the difference between the Lee Auto prime and other hand primers (hornady, RCBS, etc,) that you recommend it, just the price difference?

Re: Total noob reloading post

Depend on how much you are planning to load at a time and how much in general. An AP press would be a waste for me, make sure the press you get best matches what you plan to do.

Re: issue loading 5.56

Uh-oh!! The old seat and crimp in one step gremlin!! It likes to sneak up and bite noobs on the butt.... Yep, still a noob. I tossed the ones that were really bad, reread directions a few more times everything looks and feels right now. The way the press felt should have been my first clue that I w...

Re: issue loading 5.56

I am having a similar problem with some .45 ACP cases and there isn't an expander ball involved. They fit snugly in the mouth of the case, but once I seat the bullet (depth is correct) they simply fall down until the powder stops them. I've been going nuts about this. It only occurs in a few cases,...

Re: issue loading 5.56

Everything is in spec. I took one of the cases that was loose and sized it without the expanding rod and seated the bullet. Found out two things I was using a tad too much crimp before (looking really close and feeling the case it is slightly deformed) and something odd happened when I originally si...

issue loading 5.56

I thought I had the bullet seated right and a good crimp but things are not right. So I need help determining the cause and solution. What is happening is when seating the bullet drops completely into the case sometimes other times it crimps but the bullet can spin. The cases are once fired Lake Cit...

Re: Win 22 Cal 64 gr PP

I prefer Redding Dies, but RCBS and Hornady dies can be accurate also. If you use a universal de-capping die, then I modify the sizing die to put expander up near neck in sizing die. Lube case, inside neck and outside, stroke case up into sizing die, adjust expander rod up until it contacts brass i...

Re: Win 22 Cal 64 gr PP

Just when I thought I was starting to get a handle on this stuff, guess I got some homework. I have a 1:7 twist so the fast load. For arguments sake lets say I want this to be as accurate as I can get (at this point I'm just making practice ammo that won't ruin my day) what tools/equipment should I ...

Re: Win 22 Cal 64 gr PP

The three sources I checked for COL listed 2.20 when I measured while getting the bullet depth I got 2.21 so that should be good. I haven't chambered a dummy round yet, but I will this afternoon. There your go! If the particular rifle is an autoloader, ease the dummy round into position, feeling al...
