Just a follow up on this,as much as I wanted to keep my old press,I did the exchange with Hornady,sent in my old press and all my shell plates and primer tubes.Shell plates were $10.00 each plus the $200.00 for the new press,I think it's a good deal.I'm not a big fan of filling the "new" ...

So, what I'm hearing is that the new id is a bit of an IQ test?

I'm not aware of a range there. How is the range portion handled?

A nice guy and his kid let me shoot one round through theirs and I've wanted one ever since.

Is the SR-556 not selling well for them?

I saw a video on these and while I haven't tried them they look like a good idea.

I'm with you here. I think I'd be more afraid of the needle than a gun or knife.

Try both and decide. Make sure the XDS is post-recall so you can decide if you like the trigger. Last time I checked the Shield is less expensive so that may be a determining factor if you're on a budget.

Pre and post recall my XDS-9 never failed to shoot anything I fed it.
