Re: A second AR upper?

I was intending to do something that i could use the same lower and mags. I currently have a superior arms lower, 6 position stock and a dpms 18" upper assembly. I guess for a little extra I could have a whole other AR. I thought I may be a cheap way to have 2 rifles to play with. I guess I &q...

Re: 22LR conversion kit for a AR-10?

Short answer is no. With the abundance of .22 kits for the AR15-sized platform, it just wouldn't make financial sense for a company to make one. I think that the cost of R&D and engineering that it would take to make it work on a AR10 would be too high to make it profitable.

Re: Not to toot my own horn, but...

You da man, Mark! Have you been getting any new shooters from your clinic showing up for the league nights? Are you going to bring your Palma rifle down to North Star for the Mid-Range Team match on Saturday?

Re: Outbreak Omega 4

Evidently so. I guess i am not the target market for this. Blasting away at targets while dressed as a post-apocolyptic undead-hunter with no purpose other than blasting away has no real appeal to me. If scores were kept and there was something to compete for, I'd probably be able to get past the zo...

Re: Outbreak Omega 4

I went with a buddy last year and thought it was a waste of time. Was fairly disappointed to find out that there were no scores being kept and the only way to win anything was by random drawing of tickets. The nerd factor was off the charts - more digital multi-cam that I've ever seen in one place. ...

Re: A second AR upper?

I have recently been struggling with the same quandary. I want something in 6.8 SPC that I can reach out to 5-600 yds for fun and maybe deer at some point. I've decided to just go ahead and build a whole 'nother rifle. My decision was based on the following factors: just have a stock trigger (from ...

Re: F-Class, who shoots it, what do you shoot?

I don't know if I'd agree about the cost of shooting HP. You can shoot Service Rifle with a decent coat, sling, glove, mat and scope for $2k or so and a lot of guys do. Kind of the HP version of "F-T/R". You can always spend as much money as you want on a given hobby, but you don't have t...

Re: F-Class, who shoots it, what do you shoot?

What kind of turn out did they get this weekend at ER? Heard there wasn't a single sling shooter in the bunch. :? I was only able to attend Saturdays team match, turnout was pretty good, there was at least one sling shooter because I swapped in one of those GIGANTIC Highpower targets a few times! I...

Re: Looking for thoughts...

The guys suggesting dogs for home defense are dead on. Criminals are generally lazy and not looking for any extra trouble or work. All you really need to do is make your house look a little more difficult than the neighbors' places and you should avoid these situations entirely, unless you have some...

Re: Post 435 CMP Service Rifle Clinic Review

Another thing worth noting, in NRA matches, it really makes no practical difference whether you shoot a "Match Rifle" or a "Service Rifle". The scores are not divided by type of rifle as there just aren't enough shooters at local matches to warrant 2 classes. Exceptions would be ...

Re: Post 435 CMP Service Rifle Clinic Review

Your rifle does not meet the criteria of a Service Rifle, so it could not compete in "Service Rifle" category. You could compete in NRA matches in the "Match Rifle" category. CMP Leg matches you would most likely be allowed to(depending on who's running the match) shoot it just f...

Re: Worried about the CMP clinic & Rifle Sight-in
