Re: Would you pick Smith 586 or Ruger GP100 for your only revolv

I've let MANY new/first time shooters shoot my SW 686 4" barrel and they all love it. I think it's the same as as a 586 except stainless and it has target grips. Guys with big hands like it, and women like it too. It's one of the last guns that I would ever get rid of. Hands down the S&W, ...

Re: June 6, 1944

My great uncle swam to France on D-Day.
He was a motormouth, an excellent storyteller, funny as hell, but he didn't talk about his war.
Thank You Very Much, and Rest in Peace Sonny.

Re: A funny feeling...

While wasting time between jobs at a local GM, a man who was looking at several handguns decided to point one at me. My situational awareness was kicked soundly and squarely in the bollocks, causing a dramatic rise in blood pressure and heart rate. "Hey A-hole, watch where you're pointing that ...

Re: Barry from Gun Gripes has Passed

Rest well, sir.
Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I liked the "Day of the Dead" reference.
I haven't eaten. Is there food? They even taped his glasses. (but they did it on the wrong side... Musta been some copyright concerns)

Re: Hearing protection for indoor range use

I have the HL sport, and while I love them they seem to block less sound than other muffs. When indoor now I try to remember to add a layer of foam in ear protection under the HL. But for outdoor use the HL seems fine to most common calibers. I also use Impact Sport with foam plugs for my indoor sh...

Anyone aware of a store or dealer in the area who has a decent deal on these old rifles? What does "In the area" mean to you? MnGunTalk covers a lot of ground. Judging by the subject line I believe santo is referring to the Minneapolis - St. Paul netro area. After further review of the su...

Re: Ft Hood again

Earlier, Fort Hood ordered everyone at the base to "shelter in place." The order was sent on the base's Twitter feed and posted on its Facebook page. The 1st Calvary Division, which is based at Fort Hood, had sent a Twitter alert telling people on base to close doors and stay away from wi...
