Re: House fire. Need advice on what to do with firearms.

call a professional fire restoration company like Giertsen. They deal with this on a daily basis and are exceptional. If you have insurance, it will cover you firearms subject to your contents limit. There are no sublimits for firearms for the cause of loss of fire. OIling is a good start, but the i...

Re: New thermal MN hunting rig

Well Tony is wrong on this issue. We have night hunting for coyotes. Why isn't being able to accurately identify your target with red or green LED light or a NV or thermal scope a smart thing? If that is being a meathead to Tony then he should look in the mirror to see a meathead looking back at him...

Re: AR10 set up or AR15 upper

I am at the same crossroad. I am exploring a 300 Blackout upper to pair with a suppressor as well as a .308 JP with a 6.5 upper.

I like the idea of a subsonic 300BLK with a suppressor to hunt hogs in TX with so that may be first but that JP isn't far behind.

Re: Scope fell apart at the range

Whatever you are buying from Leupold in the same price as your vortex is no where near the vortex.

I will be happy to take it off you hands since it is "junk"

Re: Scope fell apart at the range

Vortex is awesome. They will fix or replace. Give them a chance to make it right.

Re: New thermal MN hunting rig

There is no reason it shouldn't be legal for the taking of coyotes in MN. I assume the DNR's opposition to it would be the same as their opposition to suppressors. But we are allowed to hunt coyotes at night, but without lights, NV or thermal. That is a law that should be changed.

Re: Firearms Insurance

try this:

http://collectinsure.com/

If there are a number of people interested there is a boomershooter member who is an agent. He doesn't write in MN but would get licensed / appointed here if there were enough people to make it worth the expense.

Re: Gun store “operators”

For my money, go see Kate at Arnzen Arms and find one that feels right to her. Better yet, go to Bill's range, rent a few and find what she likes and then go see Kate at Arnzen to purchase.

Re: AR triggers

AR Gold is a huge improvement. The JP / Armageddon Roller trigger is sweet too if you can get used to the roller. I like the concept, I just haven't totally gotten used to the roller.

Re: If you're going to play hero - you'd better be prepared

Too many people carry hoping to "save the day" Carrying a gun should be thought of like homeowners insurance. I buy HO insurance to protect me and my family. It doesn't cover anyone else. My gun is much the same way. Inserting myself into a situation that I don't have 100% knowledge of and...
