Red Flag law and safety

If the goal of Red Flag laws (as declared) is safety for all concerned, does the proposed law here in MN have a provision for the temporary detainment of the individual instead of their firearms? I have looked at a .pdf booklet put out by The National Alliance on Mental Illness- Minnesota ( https://...

Re: Mossberg 590 Shockwave

I’m curious. Couldn’t ATF turn around and make this gun illegal using same tactics they are using with bumpstocks since there were questions about its legality from the beginning.

Why is he eligible to be released?

Because outside of exigent circumstances, it’s codified in our Constitution.

Seems to me being a felon in possession of a firearm would be exigent circumstances.

Re: Interesting article in Politico

I don't see the anti's ever offering any concessions. It is not their way. They believe it gives them the moral high ground.

Interesting article in Politico

I thought it was a interesting read with a new idea (to me anyway) I see good and bad in it. One aspect of the article is that author tries to answer questions that would come from both sides. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/04/28/gun-nuts-guide-to-gun-control-federal-semi-automatic-fir...

Re: Ammo sales restricted to St. Paul

I just talked to Bass Pro Shops. The CS agent did not know. She said they do not have anyone to ask answer a question on restrictions. She suggested I google it. I did and came up with a couple of contradictory stories about a lead ammo ban the DNR is/was pushing on state land. I'm going to guess wh...

Ammo sales restricted to St. Paul

I got an email from Bass Pro shops about some one day only prices. It showed some Fed. copper plated 38 grain LR22 in 275 bulk boxes for 14.97. I selected a couple of boxes and then read the restrictions. Notice--Ammunition. Ammunition is restricted from sale to CT, DC, IL, MA, NJ, NY, Los Angeles, ...

Re: Carry in your house of worship?

My church has a full time armed security force, the Pastor has a carry permit, also many of the pastoral staff & maintainence staff. But since the church is also a grade & high school, general carry is not allowed. I am assuming by general carry you are referring to any John or Jane Doe. In...

Re: Carry in your house of worship?

I pastor a church here in MN. I have my permit and I carry all the time. I know a few church members have their permits but I don't know if they carry. We also have a retired sheriff deputy but I don't know if he carries. I don't have an objection either way. One of the difficulties in formulating a...

Re: Time to buy a gun in Loosiananana!!

Louisiana has Open carry with No Permit just like Wisconsin, I grew up in Shreveport, LA and in the 60's I remember the Shreveport Times had a front page article and picture of a local attorney in his black suit open carrying his pearl handle revolvers in a double western style gun belt. In the art...

Re: Inver Grove Heights robbery thwarted by Permit Holder.

Betcha anything the permit holder loses his job. Liability issue for the company to have employees carrying. Not right, but bet that'll happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Probably depends on if they had rules against having one. If they didn't then I'd like to see a wrongful termination sui...

Re: Australian woman shot dead by Minneapolis police after calli

I haven't own a car in a few years, trucks only. Is an abdomen shot possible from the passenger side of the cruiser without some height adjustment from a normal shooting position?

Re: MN homeowner gets 90 days for killing fleeing intruder

"Judge Greg Anderson’s sentence stayed a two-year prison term. His probation during those two years includes no alcohol or illicit drug use, and no possession of firearms. " Is the article poorly written as it seems to indicate when the probation is done he can once again possess firearms?...
