Re: 30/06 to 25/06

Jim, I will save you the trouble = I will give you my re-sized 30-06 to 25-06 brass already fire-formed. Since doing this back in 1982, I've purchased a good supply of factory 25-06 brass. I have 2 25-06 rifles, love them with 87 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip projectiles. 100-120 grain is better for d...

Re: Crimping cases

As another new reloader, I chose to purchase the Lee Factory Crimp Dies for each caliber I load. I only use the bullet seating die to set my seating depth and once that's set where I want it, I move to the Factory Crimp Die to do the crimp. So far, all of my rounds have fit the chambers of my guns w...

30/06 to 25/06

I'm considering an acquisition of a 25/06 rifle and from reading the specifications for the two, it appears that I could use 30/06 brass necked down and trimmed, for loading 25/06. Has anyone had any experience in doing this? Am I correct in my research that it is a fairly simple procedure? Would I ...

Re: Small pistol primers found... Better hurry!

Just got back from the Bloomington Armory Gun Show. At least it wasn't so packed you couldn't move. Crowded but not like Anoka's Nightmare! I did manage to score some 6 mm 80 gr Sierra BT bullets 100 - $18, 1 lb of H414 $25, 1000 Remington Small Rifle Primers $45 (I would have spent more on gas if ...

Re: tumbling,tumbles,and media???

I have a Franklin Tumbler $39.00 a Cabelas Media Separator $29.99 on sale (no dust as it has a lid on it while spinning the media out) and I use Lizard Bedding which is crushed Walnut Shell that I got from Petco for $13 for 10 qts. One bag fills my tumbler three times. I then put some Nu Finish Auto...

Re: Wells gun show?

Oh well, my wife wouldn't want to go any way. Being disabled, makes me have to rely on her more than I care to.

Re: Steel Shoot Dates for 2013

If you're driving wheelchair in your avatar, I imagine you'll be at no disadvantage, depending on the gearing. :) It's noobs & experts all mixed together. That's part of why I like it. I get to see some amazing shooting sometimes, and over the years I've gotten a lot of free expert-level advice...

Re: Primers and powder

BigDog, they had both yesterday prices around 37 per 1000. They are out of .223 bulk bullets and out of .223 brass and ammo, had well worn US mil Ar mags 30's =$35 and 20's =$55, no cheap 9mm or 308 that I saw, no regular .22lr -had shorts and shot etc. Thank you for the info. I believe I'll call a...

Re: Steel Shoot Dates for 2013

Hi all, jj mentioned this match style as a possibility for me. I'm mobility limited and can only stand for short periods. 1- Would these Steel shoots work for someone disabled and only able to walk short distances with a cane, otherwise I require a wheelchair. 2- Where can I find info such as what f...
