Re: 3 gun match Dec 1, 2012

Glad to hear your going to make it out Brian! I am no longer in MN and wont be making it. You can start posting here, also on the loaner/borrow forum, you can also friend the MN 3gun group on Facebook. Even if shooter115 cant make it you will still do well showing up at the shoot with ammo (100-150 ...

Re: 3 gun match Dec 1, 2012

DO NOT SHOW UP AT A MATCH JUST TO WATCH! It will be a total waste of a shoot for you. You are only going to learn by doing and these local MN 3gun group shoots are a great place to do so. If you need guns or gear post up here in advance and i am sure someone will let you borrow whatever you need. Re...

Update on the most important room in the house.

I am finally getting settled here in SD after the move, been spending a little too much time hunting and have neglected the reloading room until this past weekend. I managed to get my benches built and all but two boxes unpacked. Benches are framed out of 2x6's I double the fronts to aid in bolting ...

http://kristianstaxidermy.com/

Re: Anyone looking for a LOT of 5.56 brass

Shooter115 - I think you mind is in the right place. This will get snatched up by someone who can use it.

It says a bunch of them are blank brass, correct me if I am wrong but I dont believe those are reloadable.

Re: Hornady XTPs

The deer I shot with one this year out of a 7.5 inch 44 mag died within 30 yards despite less than optimal shot placement. The field-dressing revealed vitals that were jelly to an extent I have not seen since I shot a 10-point LARGE deer from about 10 yards with a .270....... That said, I didn't ge...

Re: military surplus

These guys have a store in White Bear Lake, but I've never been inside. http://www.ccmilitary.com/index.php I had a few buddies that worked there, nice place. When I was in there last (3 years roughly) they had their shop split between surplus stuff and paintball/airsoft stuff. I pi...

Re: Deer Pics

It is a 300 / 221 or 300 blackout /fireball/ whisper. 12.5 in barrel made by J Fettig on the board. Throws a 125 balistic tip at 2475FPS. We are in an intensive harvest are and have 10 folks hunting and 18 down so far but no big racked deer. Lots of fawns, does and spikes. Nice, i think thats just ...

Re: PSA 16'' Mid Premium Patrol Rifle Package

PSA has a "no backorder" policy and I think they are lying out there arse on that one! They certainly take orders and peoples money without sending product (that makes it a back order). I ordered stuff from them and when it didnt ship after a week I called/pressed the issue, I explained to...

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

Are you getting the illuminated one? I would like to hear a review when you get it, my buddy has a 4-16x50 Millet on his 25-06 deer gun and the quality of the glass is very lacking (his was in the $300-400 range). For the money I would rather pick up a low end Leoupold or Nikon.

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

What would yall recommend for an optic on this gun? I am looking at the Vortex Viper PST in 4-16x50. This gun will primarily be used for coyotes and deer. Is the PST worth the extra money or is the Vortex HS series a reasonable optic?

most all the bullets have a steel/copper blend jacket.
Magnet will stick to the jacket whatever the core is.

Regardless if a magnet sticks to it you wont be allowed to shoot it at most indoor ranges and most competitions.

Re: Building my first bolt gun.

.260!!! Cuz if you're like me you can sometimes get lazy and buy factory ammo from sporting goods stores and then you have brass to reload with as well. You can buy Hornaday branded 6.5 Creedmoor too! Which really means nothing to me, as you know i dont buy factory ammo and for a precision long ran...
