I've dug more than one M1 Carbine bullet out of a target frame that looked like that. I think it's due to the relatively low velocity and thick jacket.

With modern machining techniques and mass produced barrels, I don't see how you could, with any level of certainty, identify a particular firearm from any other of the same brand and model. Especially after the bullet hits something solid.

I guess the correct takeaway is: New York, Chicago, Portland and Chicago have made great strides in reducing crime over the decades and are perfectly safe places to live in. And Minneapolis (and everywhere in America) is still near historic lows, although more can be done to improve things here. :r...
