Re: Group Buy: Georgia Arms ammo

EAJuggalo, looks like you live in Eagan also, I can meet you with a check if you wish. How much are you willing to front on this purchase? I've been to the site and am thinking of about a $523.25 purchase. Are you OK with that? Input on whether I can find better deals locally would be appreciated, b...

Re: Group Buy: Georgia Arms ammo

Do you know if their "Canned Heat" ammo is any good? I'm pretty well stocked, but I'm always tempted to load up if there is real value to be had. Let me know your thoughts.

Re: The Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Shoot IDPA

This sounds like something I'd like to do. Here is your standard Newbie questions list: Is there a checklist for Certifications you need to have in place to participate (Holster Class? not sure what that is) ? Is there a Checklist and recommendations for equipment - calibers - weapons - number of ma...

Re: WTS Ammo, Scale and Knife

I can't get to the link you provided, sorry. Probably nothing wrong with it, work blocks those, I guess.

Anyway, can you give me some info on the ammo - Caliber etc.

thanks.

Re: Is it Wise to shoot +p through a Bersa Thunder?

OK, a chance for futher education. What is a SAAMI Standard?

I'm hearing you say that it probably wouldn't be a good idea because of the blow back design and besides there isn't much of an advantage to them anyway, especially since they could do some damage.

Am I reading that correctly?

Is it Wise to shoot +p through a Bersa Thunder?

Just checking on whether these high pressure cartridges would be a good idea. I have an aluminum framed Taurus PT99 which I was warned that +p ammo would cause fractures in the frame. Any such issues with the Bersa Thunder 380? I'm using it in deeper conceal situtions where my G36 would be too obvio...

Re: Fleet Farm Blazer 380 ammo - $11.99/50

Fast, I noticed he had some pretty good pricing on a few other calibers I'm currently bulking up on. You say he is local, does he have a retail outlet or is it all mail order? Could I save the shipping and pick it up myself? Are there any more of the "local" guys I should be checking out. ...

Fleet Farm Blazer 380 ammo - $11.99/50

I thought I'd pass along a little info. I'm new to the 380 game, and have been shocked to see the prices as high as they were. I ran across Blazer 95gr. Aluminum Case at Fleet Farm for $11.99/50. Seemed like a good deal so I got 10 boxes. I'm thinking I did OK, but willing to be whipped if it was a ...

Re: Building a private outdoor gun range.

Thanks for the info Gents. I think I'm leaning a bit more toward the approach 1911 took. Since I don't own a mini-gun (yet), it'll have to do. :D I had originally thought of the railroad tie idea, but was trying to figure out how to pin them together and keep them standing. That may still be an opti...

Re: I have everything.....now what ???

This is a good topic. I had my permit for about 18 months. I couldn't wrap my brain around why I would ever need to carry. I'm 6'2" and about 270, so I always figured I wouldn't be a target. I got my permit because I could and I'm a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment, so it was a statement f...

Re: Building a private outdoor gun range.

Lenny,
Excellent, thanks for the resource. I'll give it a look and start thinking of ways to get my hands on some railroad ties and a few pickup loads of sand. That appears to be the best solution without access to a bull dozer.

Re: New gun design by a local guy.

Hey Pat, Since you shot it, how would you rate the recoil and the operation? uhhh you know.....how did it feel......ummm right before you broke it........... :P  Sorry about the hack, I'm usually the one who falls out of the boat on fishing trips or steps in the 10" hole ice fishing, so I ...

Building a private outdoor gun range.

Have any of you people ever built your own outdoor gun ranges? I'm looking for ideas on how to construct a backstop to safely shoot into. I own 5o acres of land out in the Western part of the state and have been using the side of an old barn with a grove of trees behind it, but only sparingly as it ...
