Re: Looking a finally getting and AR

I'm surprised that this thread is a few hours old and nobody has asked. "what purpose will the rifle serve?" How much use will it get? Range plinker? Home defense? Hunting? Competition? Mall ninja? <snip> Just to figure out what I want to do with it now. :( Yeah, that. Minor details...

Re: I touched a Glock......(shiver)

Nope not anyones fault. Its a gun made for the masses to shoot adequately for defense. I can usually shoot mine to its ability. 1-3" groups at 10 yards is the expectation and that's what they all will do. The trigger is mushy from the factory but you learn the platform like anything else. In a ...

Re: Black Friday Ammo Deals? or no?

My brand of common sense says "what incentive is there to put a deal out for ammo/unobtanium?" 1. None. You'll buy it regardless as the past shortage proved. Again. 2. Guess what? Its beginning to be in stock now and its still selling at high prices. A "sale" kinda pisses me off ...

Re: Gloves for reloading...

I wear them for the grip they provide, helpful when holding brass for primer pocket reaming, and the residual case lube on the fingers helps to spread lube on brass. I don't wear them for cosmetic or lead protection purposes. They just seem a natural to me when reloading. I use similar for prepping...

Re: I touched a Glock......(shiver)

Alright, I'm getting winter fever, and looking around for some sort of firearm project to keep me amused while my knee heals up. I have been toying with trying to get one of my 10mm's to run 9x25 Dillon for some time, but nobody seems to make 1911 barrels any more in that caliber. Bar Sto has sworn...

Re: no more gunstop until john is back

I drove across town today and 10 minutes before their posted closing time they had the entrance door locked. Two other guys walked up and tried the door too. The clowns working there didn't even bother looking toward the door - they just kept drudging on like the trolls they are. Guess they don't n...

Re: Gun Cleaning

I have an US cleaner. I bought it to clean handguns. I don't like it. It seems to work well, but I think I'd rather clean them the normal way, seems like less hassle. This is me. Nitrile gloves, apron, hoppes 9, brushes and picks and patches, oil. Handgun done in 10-30 mins depending on how thoroug...

Re: 30mm scope ring for slug gun?

I don't own a slug gun but I use Burris XTRs on both my 30 mm scopes with no issues at all. Check out Optics Planet for the best price and selection. I know they have a version that is only 1/2 inch high. I'm sure you could spend 5x the money on Badger Ordinance but I don't see the point. Nice. I'd...

30mm scope ring for slug gun?

Wondering what scope rings would be recommended by those who have firsthand experience for a 30mm scope tube on a 12 ga slug gun. The slug barrel has a cantilevered rail and ill need the lowest mounting height possible. The scope is a leupold vxr 1-4x20 and is a 30mm tube. I've got my eye on a coupl...

Re: G19 Grip Reduction

Makes a glock look uglier if that's possible. But it makes the grip something most people can grip easily as well as straightening the grip angle to that of most other pistols. I personally don't buy the "oh I can't shoot that gun because of the grip angle" b.s. some people will give you. ...

Re: G19 Grip Reduction

Question - does it actually reduce the width of the grip by making the grip walls thinner? Or simply removing finger grooves does that? I would think the length of the grip is irrelevant and simply stippling would maintain the same width. is mainly reduces the cavity in the backstrap. Walls don't g...

Re: G19 Grip Reduction

Ha well you got me there... considering you can do anything to your gun in open and damn near anything now in limited, yes it would be legal. And it's always a good idea to make your gun lighter when shooting major..... Certainly the shooting games are the only thing to consider when modifying a gu...

Re: G19 Grip Reduction

Do i recommend changing the sights, yes... do i say improve your trigger, of course... but butcher your frame into some tacticool stippled mess, damn right a say bs... Spose that means adding a beavertail to a 1911 is dumb too... that would be butchering a frame. Blanket rules don't usually work to...

Re: G19 Grip Reduction

geez, for those of you who the concept of a grip reduction on a Glock is foreign... you need to get out from under your rock. This has been very popular for avid Glock shooters for many years. It's no secret that many consider the Glock grip to be overly large from the factory. What's wrong with mak...
