Re: Virginia's Message to the Governor

The ability of the progressive Left to ignore what the people want because the philosopher-kings know what's best is limitless. Only defeat at the polls and their removal from power (or the imminent prospect thereof) makes any impression; and even then they'll never stop bemoaning how stupid the gre...

Re: Caucus Event: 2020 Gun Owners Lobby Day

we now have a strong anti-gun majority in the Minnesota House - and only two votes keep a mostly anti-gun faction from taking control in the Senate. On top of that, Governor Tim Walz campaigned on a strong platform of gun control and has promised to take immediate action once the legislature brings...

Re: Major missle 'oops'!!??

I wouldn't put it past the Russians to have shot it down hoping to escalate a war between Iran and the USA.

Re: VA to shut down all gun ranges not owned by the state

Geez, I can only hope that (1.) It doesn't go through due to public outcry, or (2.) that it is declared flatly unconstitutional, by the US Supreme Court if the VA Democrats insist on appealing it that far. And I hope that next election there is a huge, huge backlash at the polls by voters who've now...

Re: Need a job?

As nearly as I can tell, this is working with UN Peacekeeping forces in war-torn areas. Doesn't seem to be related to domestic disarmament.

Re: School officer pawns firearm, brings pellet gun to work

Why the Swiss model of the government issuing reservist weapons kept in the home would never work here.

Geographic evidence that gun deaths are cultural

https://medium.com/handwaving-freakoutery/geographic-evidence-that-gun-deaths-are-cultural-277cb90fa06d Summary: geographic analysis reveals a surprising fact: rates of suicide by gun and rates of murder by gun not only don't coincide, they're almost diametrically opposed- something inexplicable by ...

Video about proposed VA gun laws

I originally saw this on Quora.com, with the request that it be forwarded to as many recipients as possible. Having watched the video I agree that it needs as wide an audience as possible. Source is Facebook page of Steve Huff, president of AccuracyX Inc. Huff spells out how the proposed laws would ...

Re: 'The law is the law': Virginia Democrats float prosecution

I think that someone had a quiet word with the Virginia Democrats and explained to them that the VA National Guard, officers and enlisted, did NOT want to have to fight against a civil insurrection sparked by attempting to confiscate newly banned guns. Maybe someone told the legislators they could b...

Re: VA SB 16 Assault firearms and magazines

It would be interesting to see the ruckus raised, if Virginia counties started suggesting the historically relevant act of succeeding over to West Virginia; to repudiate the authority of the pro-slavery, Democratic-controlled state government that fears its residents enough to desire to keep them i...

Re: 'The law is the law': Virginia Democrats float prosecution

Beware of "select militias": persons vetted for their loyalty to the regime and given a monopoly on possessing weapons. It goes back to the English Civil War, and such militias were regarded by the Founding Fathers as little better than standing armies where democracy was concerned.

Re: Bill to remove SBR’s from registry introduced

I get there are "rules" about what is and what is not a SBR, I just don't see functional differences between pistols, riffles, and shotguns. Why is this such a big deal with the government? The 1934 NFA almost perfectly tracks what Hollywood depicted in crime movies: the mobster's Tommy g...
