Re: scope maxed out....

May also check to see if the rings are the same height. I've seen some older rifles use different height rings to clear a larger objective lens. Also make sure the rings lugs are fully seated.

Re: 1st revolver

Gun Stop seems to usually have few used with good prices. I don't think you can go wrong with a Smith or a Ruger in 357. Be forewarned wheel guns tend to multiply....

Re: F-Class & Elk River Sportsmans Club

A bit late, but this is a good friendly group to get started in mid-range shooting. They require the orientation to get shooters familiar with the range and safety rules. I started last year and had a hoot shooting the league and getting to know folks. Fclass is broken into FTR and Open. FTR is limi...

Re: Used market for 10/22?

I have a newer polymer trigger guard carbine version and a couple of old versions. The newer version seems to shoot and function just as well as the old one. I thought the polymer trigger guard version would be pretty crappy, but I don't notice a huge difference. I've also shot a takedown with the R...

Re: Armslist - To many questions?

Is there an online source to check if a firearm is stolen? I thought only law enforcement had that access.

Re: reloading bench lights?

I picked up a cheapie $25 LED plug-in shop light at Sam's. Haven't tried it for reloading, but it was way brighter than my old fluorescent. It does seem a bit harsh, though. Price is right and I think Costco has a similar product.

Re: Looking to buy 1st AR15.

Joe's had s bunch of ARs on clearance including Bushmasters, DPMS, and Windham. The prices seem more in-line with the market. Mighg be worth checking out to see a few basic ARs. Just don't get a Bushmaster Carbon 15. I started with a Bushmaster and a DPMS and never had any issues. If you are incline...

I have bought CCI at Joe's and 4 Seasons. I would call first to make sure.

Re: Scope Mount Opinions

I'd save the money on bedding the scope rail to the action and put it towards ammo and a future barrel. The Nightforce rail and rings should good to go. Maybe bed if you decide to get the action trued. Just remember to use a little blue loctite.

Re: Walther PPS

I picked up a PPS at Cabela's. Very good price and shoots really nice. Shot a couple boxes through it without a hitch. Pretty accurate for its size. The trigger guard mag release takes a bit getting used to. I agree with Hmac saying it feels more like shooting a larger compact/fullsize than a sub.

Re: AR triggers

The RRA 2-stage NM trigger is on sale, too. Can't really go wrong at this price! I picked up a couple to upgrade.

Too bad there isn't a drop-in Jewel BR trigger for an AR.

Re: essential tools for gunsmithing/AR tinkering

I'd also be cautious about the NcStar quality without seeing it in person. As others metioned, there's a lot of mediocre tools marked way up. Lyman sells a decent set of punches for $25 and a roll pin version for $20. I started with a set of Home Debit 3 pack of US made steel punches for $15. I use ...

Remington 300 Win Mag ADL Take-off Barrel

For sale is a factory Remington ADL barrel chambered in 300 Win Mag. I purchased it used so round count is unknown, but looks to be shot very little. I put about 5 rounds of factory ammo and was able to group three shots in about a inch. I was a bit surprised! Anyways, bought it for a build. Comes w...

Re: Hey ERUD (and others): Tell us about long range shooting.

I only shoot the league nights and am not a ERSC club member, so I don't know if club members have access to the 600 at other times.
