May also check to see if the rings are the same height. I've seen some older rifles use different height rings to clear a larger objective lens. Also make sure the rings lugs are fully seated.

I picked up a cheapie $25 LED plug-in shop light at Sam's. Haven't tried it for reloading, but it was way brighter than my old fluorescent. It does seem a bit harsh, though. Price is right and I think Costco has a similar product.

I'd save the money on bedding the scope rail to the action and put it towards ammo and a future barrel. The Nightforce rail and rings should good to go. Maybe bed if you decide to get the action trued. Just remember to use a little blue loctite.

I picked up a PPS at Cabela's. Very good price and shoots really nice. Shot a couple boxes through it without a hitch. Pretty accurate for its size. The trigger guard mag release takes a bit getting used to. I agree with Hmac saying it feels more like shooting a larger compact/fullsize than a sub.
