Re: My daughter forgot how to operate her 10-22

I have spent many hours on the range with my daughter (now 19 and at the U). She loves my 1911's and my AR. I think it is very important to teach your kids to shoot, as at some point in their lives they will encounter a gun - And they know it isn't all that scary.

Re: Onamia Gravel Pit Range

I grew up in Onamia. The gravel pit is west of town on Highway 27 - just after the Lutheran Camp. As far as I know, folks still go there to shoot. BTW there is another range in Isle, about two miles south of the high school. 100 yard outside range. Go to the gun store in Isle (an amazing place on it...

Re: Store with the best selection of AR-15's??

Bill's in Robbinsdale has a huge selection of AR's right now. I just picked up a Colt with Magpul furniture for just under $1000. The trigger sucks, but am having my gunsmith replace it with a Timeny trigger.

Re: And again....and again.....another shooting (Germany)

I used to live in Munich. Called all my friends; everybody's OK.

There is a bit of rigamarole to go through, but you can legally purchase a pistol or long gun in Bavaria. The Free State of Bavaria is a semiautonomous region in Germany, with their own police, etc.

Hotels and Guns

Time to drag this old chestnut up again. I am waiting for my new condo to be finished, and am staying in a hotel in the Twin Cities. The cleaning staff saw a gun cases in my closet and reported me to the manager. Although the building is absolutely not posted, the manager said that I had to remove m...

Why doesn't Minnesota accept the Florida license?

Why doesn't Minnesota accept the Florida license? The states seem very similar in their requirements to receive a permit to carry.

Re: Nighthawk/Korth revolvers

What would it cost to take a Smith & Wesson to the specialized gunsmith in order to bring it up to competition standards?

There are folks in this community who would pay the price nighthawk is asking.

Re: buy a desert eagle: 44 or 50?

The gun was originally designed in .357 caliber, with an interchangeable barrel of 44 caliber. Only later did the company's marketing decide to move up to 50 caliber. The designer himself has told me that the gun is extremely hard to handle in 50 caliber.

As a kid I grew up around horses. There is a special place in France for the horse that bucked you off ;)
