Re: Wood Question

As 1911fan said, lots of times the very dark black stains are oil or cosmoline soaked deep into the wood, or water stains that turned the wood dark. If the stock is soaked in cosmoline, leave it lay in the sun, or heat it gently with a heat gun, or like I do, prop it up in front of my (gas) woodstov...

Re: Mosin-Nagant Bolts Coming Loose

Well, I don't have an answer for you, I have lots of those things, and none of mine do that. But you might go over here

Re: Bald Eagle Winter Pistol Leaque

Sorry to hear you didn't make it. I am there every Saturday barring disaster ;) You'll need 48r of ammo to shoot the course-12r at 50y, benched, 18r at 25y, 12r at 50', 6r at 21'. Lots of fun, liberally mixed with good natured ribbing. I shot a great 50y string today, to completely fall apart on the...

Re: And a good time was had by all

Had a great time, was nice to meet some of you guys in person! Most of my friend are not gun people, (OK, none of them are), so it was great to be around so many like minded folks.
Thanks for setting it up, and let's do it again in March. :D

Re: Bald Eagle Winter Pistol Leaque

I've been shooting the BESA winter pistol league for 4 years, and it is a hoot! Some folks are pretty serious, most are not, lots of encouragement, lots of laughs.
Tons of fun for $20-I'll be there after (burp) having some effen breakfast tomorrow.

Re: Pawnshop guns

I've bought maybe half a dozen guns, pistols and long guns, from pawnshops in the last couple years. Everything I have bought from them has been a good deal-or it would have stayed in their case! Now, given the number of times I've stopped and looked at pawnshops, my batting average is horrible. Mos...

Re: Blazer Blazer Blazer

I have also shot thousands of these in 9mm, and .45. Never a problem, reasonable accurate. Cheap used to be $5 a box, now I don't usually see it below $8.
