Re: Which charts to believe

Sent MG an email but have not heard anything back so far.

Should have mentioned earlier that I also emailed Alliant who said seat it shorter with less powder. No amounts stated.

Re: Which charts to beleive

one more picture. This is one of the newly loaded with OAL of 1.12 and magic marker. You can see where the bullet hits the rifling. If I drop to 1.09 no problem.

Re: Which charts to beleive

it's a 124 Montana Gold JHP and yes sitting next to each other they look to be almost the same but they do weigh in at their correct amounts. The MG FMJ is exactly the same as the Winchester also except the Winchester is crowned in on the bottom and the MG's are flat. New pic is 148 MG FMJ, MG 124 F...

Re: Which charts to beleive

Most CZ's do have problems with a lot of factory HP's also so I'm guessing the picture is correct. Did also talk to CZ USA and they said it is like that for better accuracy?????? Not sure if that could be true but hey it's what they said. I'm a good 10% below the max load from the Alliant web site a...

Re: Got my PTP today, but...

Yeh the name thing can drive you nuts sometimes. My name is actually Larry not Lawrence which I though was smart on my parents part until I went in the service. Arghhhh can't count the number of times someone handed something back to me telling me I have to use my full name. SO, just to get even wit...

Re: Which charts to beleive

My guess ( and it's probly a good one ) is that OAL has nothing to do with your rounds chambering freely. More than likely, a lot of your reloads' cases are still considerably expanded near the head ... and that's where the sticking is occurring. 'Nother way to verify this ( jeez this is sounding f...

Re: Which charts to beleive

It isn't a mag problem, they work fine. Just worried about the OAL being just a bit shorter than the Alliant site says is Minimum. Doing 1.09 works great but 1.1 barely sticks in the chamber and Alliant says Minimum is 1.12.

Don't know but since it is a Lee loader and Lee dies it's a maybe????

Re: Which charts to beleive

Several factors enter into load data besides just power and bullet weight. Compare primers, in small capacity pistol cases it can alter load data by twenty percent Compare case manufacturers. Some cases have much less internal volume. Smaller case equals higher pressure with same load. Compare bull...

Re: Which charts to beleive

are they all that messed up or did I just pick a powder that is? Picked Unique for 2 reasons. 1 familiar from shotgun days 2 wanted a powder that would take up a lot of space in 9mm casing so I could always see what was going on from a powder perspective. IE I can see the powder height before the bu...

Re: Which charts to beleive

Thanks Dean. Have 3 manuals and the Lee loader manual which is why I ended up with those questions. Clarification helps a LOT.

Think the one that really threw me was the lee sheet that came with the loader saying something above the Alliant site also.

My take on the Lee 1000 as a newby

Thought I would throw this out here as a newby just getting into reloading and couldn't pass up the deal on the 1000 with 3 sets of dies and turrets for $150 total shipped. After reading a LOT on the internet both good and bad I watched several videos and found a step by step set up on XD site. With...
