Re: The core of the problem of everything

Facts are not subjective. Facts are what are left behind when you stop believing in something. They have opinions about facts: thus both are subjective. What does that even mean? That how I feel about something decides whether it even exists? That's pretty close to a definition of insanity. If your ...

Re: The core of the problem of everything

Well, facts are subjective. One need only look at history for that,. We're taught that "X is how Y event happened", but such events are written from the side of the conqueror, not the conquered. If you look at our history books and compare them with the history as known by the native amer...

Re: A Bloggers Take On Your Rights

Good essay. BTW, Micheal Z Williamson has written some IMO enjoyable fiction with a libertarian and/or military viewpoint. My favorite is his science fiction novels Freehold and The Weapon, but he also has a decent series of novels about a current era sniper team.

Re: Obama picture photoshopped!

Grab a strait-edge folks. His eye is below the plane of the rib. It may not be photo-shopped, but he sure as heck hadn't had ANY training or practice before that shot was taken. He's also leaning back. Even my kids don't do that anymore. My guess is the muzzle rose from recoil, something probably m...

Re: Serious questions from gun owner re registration, other laws

And people call *me* a troll... Your jealousy is showing. In response to the OP, Americans are a murdering bunch. Our non-gun murder rate is still higher than much of the developed world's total rate. However it's not all that way, most of the problem is concentrated in the large cities amon...

Re: So...what are the odds of these bills becoming law?

IMO you can't count travel expenses as money "spent" on this issue. It's not like they allocated a certain amount from the budget to this particular cause. The money is already designated for travel expenses and such, and IMO the pols don't realize/care to try to save tax dollars on these ...

Re: Man in Plymouth shoots himself in bathroom..

One of the virtues of snap loops on your carry holster. The gun never has to leave the holster while you take care of business.

Re: Hypocrisy at the highest level.

What we *need* is the republican party to become the libertarian party, like they originally were. I think you're mistaken there. The republicans espoused some libertarian ideas, being anti slavery, but a major part of the original platform was strong central banking and trade protectionism. Then o...

Re: Gun Stop Mtka- TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Sorry if this was already said, but I'm not gonna read multiple pages to see if this has been addressed in this thread, but, I've had similar experiences in several specialty shops, not just gun stores. Many places, if they don't know you, and you're standing there looking, seldom or never making ey...

Re: Gun-Control Advocates say massacre could be tipping point

According to the FBI, baseball bats are used in more assaults than firearms are. Which, even if true, means what? According to FBI uniform crime statistics for 2011 two thirds of all homicides, actually 67.7%, were committed with firearms, 13.4% by knives, 13.1% by other weapons, and 5.8% by hand o...

Re: This is getting ridiculous!

The rating system is voluntary but it's enforced by nearly every store I'm aware of. I believe that mandatory legislation around this passed in at least one state (Indiana) - but was later struck down as unconstitutional. If violent video games are indeed part of the problem, the problem with contr...
