Re: What Powder for 9, 40, -AND- 45

I kind of had the same question when I came across this thread. I'm loading for 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP right now and will add .38 special and .357 later. Right now I have Clays, Bullseye and Unique for powders. I was thinking of picking up a 4th powder just for giggles. Anything I should look...

Re: OAL - The BANE of my existence

The nose shape of the Berry's bullets are inconsistent. Some are a teensy bit flatter that others. I just loaded about 200 of the 124 gr. RN 9mm and got anywhere from 1.145 to 1.15 for OAL. Good enough for me. If I wanted better results, I'd use higher quality bullets.

Re: .45 ACP 200 gr. LRN. how much powder?

My Hornady book lists 200 grain LSWC and L-Combat/Target at 4.6 gr. - 6.3 gr. for Bullseye. The 230 grain LRN has a range of 4.5 gr. - 5.7 gr. for Bullseye. If I were loading just to test I'd start at about 4.7 - 5.0 gr. and you should be good. My only advice is to go easy with Bullseye powder. That...
