Re: July Downtown Lunch 7/30 Fogo de Chão

Thanks to Dean for organizing it.

I had a snack tonight instead of dinner. But I didn't fall asleep at work!

Great meeting the rest of you, it was really fun to talk rights and guns with people who get it.

I'll post a picture of the mag wallet on another thread.

Re: Looking for Good club to Join

Elk River is probably where you want to join, but you have to be sponsored to get in. Best bet, go to the meets on the KD range. They are open to the public. ersportsman.com I've been to one of Elk River's F-class shoots on Monday nights. Real friendly people and a lot of fun. They shoot 300 or 600...

Re: Carrying while biking

FWIW, I've tried two bike carries with my M&P 40 (not the compact): One: on the hip under a baggy, long jacket. It was a big lump that was revolving (semiautoing?) in time with the pedals, as inconspicious as going on a date with a bit zit on my nose. Two: in a murse: It was a small (8x8x3"...

Re: SCALE Regional Public Safety Training Facility Rifle Range

Del-tone-luth has a different blue sky setup on their 200 yard range. Each station shoots thru a steel tunnel, about 2' x 2' x 6' long. You can't see blue sky. They have rubber brick walls between stations so you can't cheat. I guess they figure the guys on the 200 are shooting the cannons. There ar...

Re: Police seize weapons cache

Clearly, she bought the mg as a straw purchaser in Phoenix and drove it across the border. Another article listed the anti-aircraft gun as a 50-cal. Last I heard, it was the late '40's that they decided (or '30's for the Germans) that a 50 wasn't an adequate "anti-aircraft" gun. Go figure,...

Re: Norinco SKS

I spent $329 on my Yugo last fall [in new condition], although it was an impulse purchase: I didn't look around to see if I could do better.

Re: Has anyone used the .30 cal sabots for .224 bullets?

Military snipers have used sub caliber sabots - the bullet is tungsten armor piercing:

Re: Photo Essay: Billions of Bullets

Note that they don't have a clue the difference between bullets and cartridges. Also, they called the Colts "machine guns". At least they got the selective fire Colt AR's correctly identified later as "assault weapons".

Good lawyer for defensive gun use

I looked and didn't see any relevant posts, please let me know if there's another thread. I've got most of my ducks in a row to start carrying: my insurance agent says they cover liability for legal gun use, I've ordered an IWB holster for the P7, have the permit, etc. I was re-listening to the podc...

Re: Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle

Hollywood trivia: In the March 27, 2009 episode of Sarah Connor Chronicles on Fox, Charlie is shooting a Mini-14 (or Mini-30, I couldn't tell) as rear guard while John escapes. It's kind of an "assault rifle". They redesigned it a few years ago and supposedly improved the accuracy. Some pe...
