Re: .22 LR

Are you referring to Remington Cyclones or Thunderbolts? I know Thunderbolts are known for being dirty, but haven't heard many complaints regarding the Cyclones. The cyclones. Over the last few weeks I have purchased 4 boxes at Cabela's. Shot a couple of mags of them through the Marlin today. I was...

Re: .22 LR

That Remington Cyclone stuff is some sooty rimfire.

I do not think I will be buying any more even if I see it at Cabela's.

Running the Remington Winchester through the Marlin after work today. Both had FTF and FTEs.

Switched over to Federal Game-Shock and CCI standard velocity. Not one hiccup.

Re: Sig P250

The Sig P250 is about as far opposite as you can get from a 1911. The trigger is long, heavy and gritty, and it's a DAO pull. Thanks for the info on that. Well that one is out then. I know I want .45 ACP. Double and single action. I do not want one of those little compact pistols ( I suppose .45 AC...

Sig P250

I will have to look at those. I think a 1911 is certainly in my future. I love shooting them.

Sig P250

Looking at purchasing a handgun. I want some form of .45. I was looking at various 1911s mainly the Rugers and the Remingtons. Now I am looking at the Sig P250. I have a bit of experience shooting National Match with the 1911. How does the Sig P250 compare? Can I go wrong choosing the Sig over a 191...

As of last evening the Woodbury Cabela's had 50 round boxes of Remington Cyclone for $3.99 per box.

Re: Looking for Rubber Buckshot

You got me wondering how airsoft pellets would work if used... On a related note, I remember my dad telling me about some gentleman, back in the day, who loaded shells with peppercorns. Check out this guy's youtube channel. He has done airsoft pellets and a ton of other things out of a shotgun. htt...

Re: RCBAFK!!!

9Cr18MoV is about in the 440C and AUS10 range. Mid-range steel. That is about the right price for that steel. I favor the mid range steels. I have a few with AUS8. With the right heat treat they can have the right balance between edge retention and sharpenability. Lower end steels will generally not...

Re: First time RSO duty today at OGC

I agree it requires clarification. It has always been my understanding that we are slug only on the ranges and believe it is stated that way in the lead book. I was lead that weekend so if I was calling it wrong, do want to know. The briefing that morning and on my previous RSO day was most suffici...

Re: First time RSO duty today at OGC

With all the posts about OGC is seems like the world would be a better place if it was shut down and all of its members didn't own guns. Apparently the highest level board members are corrupt or inept. Yet they continue to be elected and hold power. Numerous members are unsafe as the many posts in ...

Re: First time RSO duty today at OGC

I have had people show up with air guns and paint ball guns just to shoot them. Most ranges who open for the public will say Deer rifle sight in and specify you use legal deer calibers only. Shot shells and buck shot are not legal in Minnesota for deer so you just tell them no because of that. Some...

Re: Gander Mountain "sale"

Went to Forest Lake Gander today and everything was great. All .22s in stock with not bad prices. The 1600 ct ammo boxes of .22s come out to $7.50 a box of 100 which beats the regular price of $7.99. They also had the CCI Blue Box of standard velocity .22s boxes of 50 for $3.99 a box. All in all, a...

Re: First time RSO duty today at OGC

I suspect the guy was not function testing, especially with 100 rounds of shot. If it were slugs, then you could function test and set the sights for the gun, but bird shot?? Unless you have an autoloader, what is there to test?? If it's double barrel or pump, I can't see what you're looking for. B...

Re: First time RSO duty today at OGC

The guy with the shotgun pulled 4 boxes of shotshells out of his backpack. I had to have him put the shotgun away. Why? I thought the same thing when I first read it. After about a minute of pondering on it, I came to the conclusion that it probably had something to do with bird shot on the (I'm gu...
