Re: The New Guns Of 2014 Thread

Now this is a real gun... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgWX7S7hzus&feature=c4-overview&list=UUhk5eyAGuO3J4rV-CiMNkNQ Very cool and not just another piece of copy cat plastic. I think I've found my next purchase.... Just in time for the new USPSA revolver rules, too. Funny how ...

Re: The New Guns Of 2014 Thread

Is that some sort of different fixed barrel system? Can't be straight blowback. Can it?

Re: 3-gun training idea

Isn't that newer building, by the bench rests, at MTKA Game & Fish heated?

Re: Emergency gun loan, looking for stories

Does this count? It was a while ago, though. http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/af99/kulfers/lend.png http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/industrialmobilization/p/lend-lease-act.htm More recently, and a little closer to home, there was the self defense shooting in Rockford a few year...

Re: MGFC/MN3GG 2-Gun Match Announcement - Saturday 11/16/2013

That was fun. After not doing any shooting since February it was nice to get out and have at it again, even if the weather didn't cooperate. I decided to go with Jomar's plan to leave the competition stuff at home and shoot the guns I keep handy for home defense. Gonna have to do that more often. I ...

Re: Who's up for a challenge?

Threw a Weaver 1-3 on the Sig 522 and tried again while dodging rain showers. Not great but makes me feel a little better.

Re: Who's up for a challenge?

Drug a few .22's to the range to try this. All done without a sling or shooting mat. Prone on the gravel pit surface of Monticello Sportsmens Club. The Marlin I put about 30 rounds through to dial in the 25 yards but the Sig and Ruger I shot 10 rounds to verify and then shot the 10 shot course. I'll...

Re: MN State Ruger Rimfire Challenge Match

Results should have been e-mailed to everybody and they are up on the SCAPSA website now. http://www.scapsa.net/Results/2013/Matches/2013%20MN%20ruger%20rimfire%20results.mht According to my calculations we put about 20,000 rounds downrange over the two days. Damn! Is that right? Somebody may want t...

Re: MN State Ruger Rimfire Challenge Match

Shooters need to bring at least 240 rounds of .22 LR. How much more than that you want to bring kind of depends on how much you plan on missing. ;) General rule of thumb for these larger matches is to double the minimum round count. It's better to take home any leftover ammo than to not have enough ...

MN State Ruger Rimfire Challenge Match

Once again SCAPSA will be hosting the MN state Ruger Rimfire Challenge match. Steel challenge format but family, kid and new shooter friendly. You need a rifle and pistol but NO...they do not have to be Ruger firearms. Saturday July 13th & Sunday July 14th. You would shoot either day, not both. ...

Re: Why would you want a SBR ( short barrel rifle)

I feel somehow inadequate with only 11,000 rounds. Came real close but couldn't quite talk myself into SBRing it. I had the paperwork filled out but couldn't quite force my hand to write the check. It's still fun, though. Mine took some tweaking, a new mag block, and a trip back to CNC to get it run...

Re: Questions about SCAPSA IPSC Rimfire

After reading the calendar description, I have so many questions about this. But let's start with these, what is the equipment rule related to rifle use? Is this something that is going to occur on regular basis? What is the range of distances for course of fire? They just leave up the USPSA pistol...

He used to shoot 3-gun with us a little.

I stayed out of this thread until I had a chance to watch the DVR.

Good job Tony!

Re: 3-gun Match - Dust em' off

And, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but unless MTKA opens up the 400 yard range for us you'll be shooting at 200 yards max.

Re: AR Compensator

My 3-gun rifle has the Cooley comp but, to be honest, I have several different types of brakes and really can't tell the difference between them, other than some may seem louder than others. (Sideblast, etc) Some more to look at on the lower end of the cost spectrum are from Nordic Components. Made ...
