Re: St. Paul Unlicensed Buyer/Reseller Indicted

What I don't understand is that - while he was making money - it wasn't much. 1/2 way thru the channel 5 clip they list what he paid and what he was asking. I'm assuming the Purchase Price listed did not include the FFL transfer to him and it's unclear whether it includes shipping. For the most part...

Re: Subsonic 357 data

I would reference 'Cowboy Action' loads. .38 Special is very popular and they generally load them as slow as they can. I personally use Clays, but the previously mentioned Trail Boss is very popular as it's not very dense.

Re: LR308 Adjustable gas block

My experience is that 308 AR's are overgassed to begin with. I would definitely recommend an adjustable block - suppressed or not.

Re: SilencerCo Hybrid?

They were just released beginning of last month, so you probably won't get many reports from the 'wild' for a few more months. My understanding is they take Octane/Osprey pistons and Omega front caps. Those who are already vested in the SiCo systems certainly would appreciate a cost savings. At one ...

Re: Cobalt Kinetics from SHOT show

In 3-gun, is it typical to run mags dry? I would have though mags would be switched out at convenient transitions, not when when they are empty. I'm still pretty limited in my 3 gun experience, but unless the stage specifies that sort of thing , everyone just fully loads all mags, and shoots till t...

Re: Can I try your Octane HD 9 and/or Omega 30?

I don't think you'll be disappointed by whatever you get - unless you expect Hollywood quiet - then you'll be disappointed by anything you get. What are you hoping to find out by demo'ing them? Keep in mind that different ammo, different day, different gun will all impact performance - and unless yo...

Re: Just Right Carbine

I have one of the older Mechtech units. I would say Heavy and Clunky are accurate, the spring also makes a lot of noise when it shoots(think AR only louder). Heck of a lotta fun though. Burned thru several magazines without a hitch. The added weight brings recoil down to nothing. If I had to do it a...

Re: Franklin Armory Binary Firing Sysyem

While I'm not necessarily for or against this device, please let me know what firing range you guys are at that people still have their finger on the trigger as they are leaving or off the line. I want to stay away. Personally I have not encountered such an occurrence. As others have stated - the re...

Re: First time shooting suppressed

... I didn't use a dB meter yet but my buddy shot a couple times minus ear protection and said it will be much better for hunting. 22lr unsupressed levels ... What DB meter are you planning on using? Most 'off the shelf' db meters, or apps for phones clip at <110db. There's ways around it - put ...

Re: S&W Victory .22LR Semi-Auto Handgun

Always happy to see a new contender in that space and was initially very excited. I think they missed the boat, however. Not enough to differentiate from existing established players in the marketplace(Ruger/Browning) and nothing really new. I would have liked to see a 'high capacity magazine'. Havi...

Re: .22LR revolvers - best/worst?

Picked up a Chiappa 1873 for under $150. While it functions fine, it's hard to hit the broadside of a barn at 10 yards. It still technically fits my needs to shoot the primer only .22's at pointblank range - but I wouldn't get one again(if given the option) nor recommend it. I expect the floor for a...

Re: Gun store “operators”

I knew it!! The place has that "shady" feeling to it. And from my own experiences, the workers there have no idea what they are talking about. Stay away, folks. They seem to have an interesting business model. Their website shows a huge inventory "in stock". In reality, the stor...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

I'm seeing a lot of recommendations for smaller auto's. I'm not sure any of them address the issue the poster is having with grip strength. He loves his Glock, but it's stovepiping due to self-admitted limp-wristing. To my knowledge, it's an inherent problem with the small form factors and I don't k...

Re: Obama meets with Bloomberg

... We have let our fear of terrorists allow two administrations to erode and threat our right of due process. I don't see a Clinton, Trump, or Cruz presidency addressing this. Rand Paul would, but has no chance at the presidency. ... Absolutely agree. We got the Patriot Act from Bush - so voting (...
