Re: Buck Mark accuracy

Both my Brownings like SK plus. That also comes off the assembly line as SK Magazine (cheaper) and Wolf Target (more expensive). One of the three is always in stock at Sportsman's Guide in South St Paul.

Re: Local Cerakoter or Duracoater?

Ahlman's does duracoat. I have a bunch of pistol parts with them which should be ready in the next week, I can post impressions then. I have not done business with Atomic, but I walked in the door and I quickly walked back out. I was not impressed with product selection or the fact the 3 guys behind...

WTB - Bullseye Gear?

If anyone has some bullseye gear they aren't using and are willing to let go reasonably, could you let me know? Pistol box, spotting scope, etc. but not guns. I'm thinking of getting deeper into it, but my other summer hobby dictates that I can't spend much time and money on it. For those of you tha...

Re: Buck Mark accuracy

I like the yellow and blue for working on follow through, seeing if I am holding still at trigger break and seeing what my ideal stabilizing time is. Later, I'll work with black competition targets if I find a bullseye league to join. These targets are very inexpensive from eBay.

Buck Mark accuracy

My Buck Mark is more accurate than I am! Here is 50' using a rest from last night. Unsupported is still good but that target better resembles impact from a 12 Ga buckshot shell :D http://i940.photobucket.com/albums/ad241/aprilian/22lr/D0FD3F4D-5689-4475-B9C1-F89B40925B53_zps1wxsqvpj....

Re: S&W M&P 15 acting up - ideas?

Put some of the crystals in a tiny amount of water to test and see if it is plastic or desiccant. If desiccant it will absorb some of the water and if no water absorbs it is plastic. Buying it from a store doesn't eliminate the possibility that they missed accounting for a packet of desiccant, when ...

Re: Gun & Knife Show, Anoka Armory, Apr 9-10

It seems like this show gets ho-hum reviews on line (except for the accidental discharge) and on this forum comments tend to indicate a fair amount of junk. Crocodile Productions web page isn't even updated to 2016?????

Worth the drive or should I put the gas money towards the ammo fund?

Re: Caffeine and shooting

I've dropped my intake to 2 cups of green tea and what I've personally noticed is not all caffeine delivery methods have the same absorption timing. Sometimes I will drink my two cups in the morning (back to back) and about Noon, I can feel jittery and occasionally my heart will race. I have heard t...

Re: Sportsman's Guide

I work only a couple miles away and still find it is easier to just wait until free shipping is offered to buyer's club members, then have it delivered.

I like the place, not nearly as pretentious as a certain big box retailer who may soon sell out to Bass Pro Shops.

Re: Hello from AV

AV = Apple Valley MN.

Hmmm, a reason to buy another gun? I thought some places had steel shooting ranges that allowed rimfire.

Re: Help.... want a 22lr 1911 ---- what is the meltdown law?

Looks like right now options are: Rock Island XT 22 (no rail) Browning (no rail) and The Sigs must be legal because they are sold at many locations (no rail) Rock Islands $470 and Browning around $550 and can find Sigs a little over $400. I should be able to find an add on lower rail that a gunsmit...

Hello from AV

I had been out of the shooting sports for 30 years when I inherited my dad's '64 Browning FN Target which he had bought in '65 in the UK. He brought it to the US in his briefcase with the ammo under the plane seat (pre DB Cooper ;) ). I added a '95 Buckmark Field and am now enjoying weekly range pra...
