Re: Range trip photos 6/17 - shooting with a polished turd

This will be the final update about this rifle, and it's a good one. The only thing that is original from when I started is the action. The last improvement done to the rifle was I sent it down to Crescent Customs in Kansas City in the fall to have it rechambered; I heard Tim Robers knows 6.5x55 wel...

Re: And Now It's Tony Cornish To Be Burned At The Stake

If there is a pattern of non-consensual behavior in Cornish's office, it's not solely an issue of gun rights. Needless to say, gun rights don't apply to just one gender; every US citizen is guaranteed self-protection rights under the 2A, regardless of gender. If Cornish's actions show disrespect for...

You didn't read past the bullet points. I don't engage in "discussions" with opinions based on short-sightedness. Don't be most people.

Re: At least 50 dead, 200 wounded at shooting on Las Vegas Strip

Lumpy, this was written after the Newtown shooting, but it's what I think about after every mass shooting since http://chrisuggen.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-broader-based-response-to-shootings.html The focus on mass shootings... ... obscures over 99 percent of homicide victims and offend...

Re: P320

If you haven't seen Andrew Tuohy's tests, posted at Omaha Outdoors, check it out. I don't have a horse in the race (all my SIGs and other striker fired handguns where lost in the boating accident). I'm just a fan of Tuohy's use of the scientific method.

Re: Women kicked out organized crime in this Mexican town

jdege, thanks for sharing this story! The pictures are great. I found a longer article from 2011 when they first took a stand. [During the first days of revolt] residents gathered around as many as 200 bonfires set up at every intersection in town to prevent the loggers from retaliating. http://...

Re: Northfield man possession of a machine gun

I'd never heard that quote from Freud before. A quick search indicates that it is misattributed to him. From "Guns, Murders, and the Constitution" (February 1990): In these other passages Freud associates retarded sexual and emotional development not with gun ownership, but with fear and l...

Re: Philando Castile case. Officer charged

If someone is denied a permit because they use a class 1 drug, they aren't also shot on the spot. Philando's drug use does not excuses Yanez from killing him. Are you a proponent of constitutional carry? If so, does it really matter if Philando's permit is technically invalid? He went through the ch...

Re: Philando Castile case. Officer charged

I have more important stuff to do than read the trial transcript, namely find a route for my travels that won't be blocked by illegal demonstrations where Yanez is erroneously called a murderer. He was acquitted and rightfully so. Seems like somebody rained on your parade. Report them to the St. An...

Re: Philando Castile case. Officer charged

Rodentman, the sequence of events you wrote are a little out of order. Read the transcript from the dashcam footage, and Yanez's partner's statements after the shooting; he heard the shots before he knew Yanez had pulled his gun. https://www.ramseycounty.us/sites/default/files/County%20A...

Why is the only advice being given to the guy who is dead? Why no advice for the cop who shot a permit holder?
