Re: Election and gun buying habits

I agree that people will wait until after the election even though HRC will likely win. People who want to wait should buy a gun at Cabela's. They will be waiting a long time in line. I've never seen it take an hour to complete a gun sale, but it does there. I bought 2 used pistols from the Gun Lib...

Re: Get ready For Hillary's Exc orders on guns

Be a great investment to buy some gun mfrg's stock right now. I bet that goes thru the roof again. Only if the Hiderbeast wins. And only until her draconian laws pass. After that, no one will be able to own a gun and/or the gun companies will be sued out of existance. If Trump wins, the pundits are...

Re: Get ready For Hillary's Exc orders on guns

Is it weird that Gander Mountain just put out an "Election" sale flyer that is nearly all guns, and runs through the 19th of November. Only if they have have really good prices; that would be weird. On that note, I stopped at the Woodbury Cabelas today to brouse and possibly pick up a spo...

Re: Should We Have A Contest?

As for the contest....should we pick certain calibers of ammo? I ask because .22 has been scarce for 3 years and is only now coming back on shelves in limited quanities whereas .40 could be found anywhere at anytime.

Re: Should We Have A Contest?

I stocked up on a few thousand rounds of the common calibers and bought a couple more ARs and even a nice M1A....trouble is my credit card melted.

Re: Get ready For Hillary's Exc orders on guns

Hey hey hey now guys - I heard Hillary say in the debate last night that she is in favor of the Second Amendment - she said it, so I don't know what you are all worried about. She is only after common sense approaches that everyone can agree are really necessary to protect children and to make us a...

Re: Get ready For Hillary's Exc orders on guns

If the Hiderbeast wins, she will stack the SCOTUS with her liberal anti-gun picks, and there won't be much opposision as I doubt a Repulican Senate can hold off hearings for the next 4 years. Then, that liberal SCOTUS will ignore EVERY exectutive order she passes. ......because the the Feds are corr...

You should. Everyone else is. Get them while the cost is still reasonable. If the Hiderbeast wins, guns AND ammo will double in price overnight. If Trump wins, well, you won't run out of ammo for a while.... :)

Re: Gun Vault

Also, should I run hvac into the room, or keep it completely sealed off on its own? My friend opted against running HVAC into the vault, as he saw it as an access point for fire and/or water damage caused by the FD putting out a fire. He felt it was better to have the vault completely sealed. Excep...

Re: Gun Vault

Concrete is definately the best, but if you can't use concrete because of the weight, use standard 2 x 6 construction with rebar going through the studs every foot or so and rebar in the stud cavities either tied or welded to the horizontal rebar. Then finish like a regular wall. Is it fireproof? No...

Re: Bass Pro Shop buying Cabela's

Ageed. Cabela's gun prices are high now. Their ammo prices aren't much better. Have to wait for a sale to see anything resembling normal pricing. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Re: Advise on first handgun purchase

As the previous poster said.....nothing wrong with used guns....UNLESS they've been "Bubbaed". The OP stated it was his first gun purchase, which implies that he may not know a whole lot about guns. When purchasing a used gun, it's helpful to know a lot about it so you know what to look fo...

Re: Advise on first handgun purchase

Buying a handgun without trying it out first is like getting married without dating first. You'll be in divorce court and looking for another one before you know it!! To bad we can't lock up the wife and stick in the safe until needed like a used gun. Its there when you need it. Who says ...
