Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

One of the main reasons I consider the metro counties a no go area. Political prosecutors and 'jurists' that you describe.

I was in the jury pool for a murder trial up here. Ultimately dismissed because of past knowledge of the perp. I can say that they WERE a jury of my peers.

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

You know, maybe not everything in the world is a conspiracy against conservatives. Maybe Chauvin is actually guilty here. You don't cement your conservative bona fides by defending all activities by the police no matter what the situation is. Sometimes cops can be bad guys, and the system works jus...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

I tend to read written items. Watching YouTube with embedded ads is a bit lower on my agenda. Frankly, I expect the video quoted will be about as accurate as the clips released at the time. Your source has to assume that Chauvin’s lawyers were incompetent, that the jury was biased, that the judge w...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

The old "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes" argument? Look, Chauvin was the only one there! This is the video that was played ad nauseum. Oops, here is the body cam of the officer taking his pulse, out of sight of the above video  This video corresponds with Branca...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

You can’t watch the video footage and not think that there was a substantially better way for Chauvin to act. Kneeling on a guy’s neck for multiple minutes and not continually evaluating him strikes me as gross negligence. I expected better from you. You definitely didn't watch or listen to the vid...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

I'll add. This whole situation came to a head in a matter of seconds, not minutes. It took place while the officers faced down an angry, unruly, loud crowd. On top of it the EMS response time was exceptionally long and out of the ordinary. The trial was nothing more than a show, and the rest of our ...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

It might not be popular here… I certainly concede that Floyd was a POS human being. I don’t disagree that Chauvin et al were overcharged. But Floyd was a person in Chauvin’s control as an officer, and he grossly neglected his duty to keep someone in his control safe. That is an unlawful taking of h...

Re: The word's getting out about George Floyd

I did post it a few weeks back. Our little Marky tried to extol the virtues of Minneapolis

Re: Keith Ellison Wins Court Case to Infringe on 2nd Amendment R

We need IQ tests for judges. Hopefully the MN Supremes get it straightened out.

Re: This NRA Supreme Court Case Has Big Implications for Porn

Free speech is therefore subject to reasonable regulation in the interests of public safety, crime prevention, maintaining the peace, environmental protection, and public health. Such regulation of free speech is appropriate, however, only when consistent with civil liberties principles such as pri...

Re: Chauvin stabbed in prison

I hadn't read the details but it's even worse than I thought. Derek's parents and attorney found out about the stabbing in the news. They weren't contacted until three days after the fact. They still don't know any details. Definitely banana republic stuff. And the Left smugly says "that's unfo...

Re: Hard-to-eradicate ‘super pigs’ in Canada is threatening US

About 15 years ago we had a pig outbreak here on the farm. I was out working on the shooting range and looked towards the end of it and thought I saw a bear. I just happened to have a range finder at hand and took a closer look and it was a dark colored pig. The next thing I see is a bunch of little...

Re: Chauvin stabbed in prison

And we slide further into Banana Republic status.

Best to flee injustice rather than become a political prisoner. Besides Russia, which countries don't have extradition treaties with the new USSR?

Re: Shenanigans in the 9th Circuit ... Again

Trump made a good start, but I sure hope the next president is able to replace the balance of the loony judges in the 9th.
