Re: Gun Broker - Crazy Seller

Seller finally got the hint. After 3 auctions that never met reserve, he finally posted it with a minimum bid amount. Interesting the minimum is $50 more than the high bid on the first auction.

Re: GANDER OUTDOORS

I admire the purity but I can guarantee that there are hundreds of products you use on a yearly basis whose owners don't share your politics. Agree, but only if I don't know about it. If I'm aware a CEO has strong politic views I disagree with I don't use their product. My opinion is CEO's of publi...

Re: GANDER OUTDOORS

Sorry, based on the politics of the owner I will never spend a time in Gander. The guys is anti-gun publicly, yet is will to sell them to profit so he can spend the profits to push his cause.

Re: Can a VP9SK handle 150 grain Federal HST 9mm?

What do you mean 'don't seem to fit' all 9mm should fall within the defined spec's for length and diameter - so it all should fit. If it is not chamber fully, don't shoot it. A picture would go a long way in helping.

Gun Broker - Crazy Seller

So there was an auction on Gun Broker with a reserve. Folks were bidding, including myself, over a 10 day auction. The reserve never got met by the time the auction ended. The seller waited less than 5 minutes and reposted the firearm in a new auction, again with a reserve. The last high bidder on t...

Re: Wrinkled cases?

It is caused by the bullet being seated and crimped at the same time. You can either turn crimp up to the point of only seating. Then come back and adjust the seat and rerun the cases through again. The issue seems to be worse when you have slightly direct case lengths. I've had the problem with whe...

Re: Why aren't women better shooters?

Medically and statistically specking women have a slightly higher heart rate. Which in certain shooting sports could have an impact on the ability to control breath and have a shorter 'calm' zone for getting off a shot. That said women statistically are easier to teach and learn at a slightly faster...

Re: Taking inventory...

I use excel and provide an updated list to my insurance carrier annually. I also store it on a cloud drive so I can see it anywhere. I include, brand, model, caliber, accessories, customization, place of purchase, pricing paid and of course serial number. I also have a picture of each, which i updat...

Re: Best polishing areas for 1911?

You know if you polish all the 'right' spots on the trigger mechanism you can get yourself a great case of hammer follow - which will impress the heck out of all your friends on the range. If you really want to play gunsmith a few 'precise' bends in the main spring will give you some amazing results.

Re: Best Brand of ammo

Shotgun I run Fiocchi Golden Pheasant and Hevi-Shot Classic Doubles. Self defense I run Hornady or Federal, rifle I reload 100%. Pistol I reload most but in 9mm I run Winchester, Fiocchi, Federal, Hornady, or Remington. 22 federal. I've never had any trouble with any of the brands above. I tried Bla...

Re: Best polishing areas for 1911?

You do realize that slide to frame fit is way way down the list on things that make a 1911 accurate - or most hand guns for that part. The frame basically is the handle, mag holder and firing method. Once the firing pin drops it has little impact on the mechanics afterwards. Some will say that if th...

Re: 41 Mag Plated Bullets

Even if someone made it thru the charging step, would the seating/crimping step make the diff between 41 mag and spl blatantly obvious? Gee you think, if the spl got mixed with the mag, you might notice the bullet almost falling out. If you had a mag mixed with a spl the bullet almost flush with th...
