Re: Entry Level Semi-Auto Shotgun?

I bought a Winchester SX3 for around 600 bucks with a rebate last year. It's amazing. You can adjust the fit, and it's reliable with Estate target loads. Mine was cheap at Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com because they had a duck hunting camo pattern on a standard 3" one, and apparently all the d...

Re: Best 'smith for shortening and threading a Rem 700 ?

I have been pleased with this guy in Northern MN. No issues using silencers on barrels he's cut down and threaded. One pistol, one rifle.

To late.

I'm diving in. It'll be fun to be shooting through a legal can with a no-logo, no serial number legal handgun

Re: 80% Glock lowers?

http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=55681 I brought it up 2 years ago... you aren't going to be saving much, if any, money. It's neat, you can say "I built that." Well, 109 for the frame, I have a barrel, 170 for a Brownells slide, and another 125 at Brownells for the parts I...

80% Glock lowers?

Anyone have experience with them? I have an extra barrel, since I needed a threaded one for my G17, and think it would be fun to try.

Brownells seems to have a lot on sale, including their own stripped slides.

Re: Local story: Good Guy with a Gun

I carry my work tools in my vehicle. A 3 foot crowbar lives on the floor in the back seat. My first option is not a fire arm. My fire arm is on me or with in arms reach. My actions will be dictated by how much information I have. Going up on a knife with another melee weapon when you're armed with ...

Re: longest indoor rifle range - metro

Tapping into the collective wisdom of the members here. Am I realistically going to find a Metro area range with rifle bays over 50yds? I'm in Eagan and trying to find a spot to dial in the new Grendel so I don't have to wait until spring to shoot outdoors. Thank you for your thoughts. They make ja...

Re: Offset BUIS or CoWitness

Where would the trajectory of a rifle sighted in at 100yrds be at 25-40yrds? I am thinking it would be a little high from POA correct? I absolutely need some range time to test that. I had my 30-06 figured out, the 308 is new to me and I haven't shot the Grendel. As you can tell, I way over think j...

Re: Offset BUIS or CoWitness

Predator hunting, some range work and potentially N Minn. Deer Hunting - distances under 200yds - BUIS would be for inside 50yds. I don't have back up irons on my hunting rifles. I can shoot stuff at 50 and in with a scope just fine hunting. That said, I don't put the Hubble on my hunting rifles ei...

Re: Hearing Protection Act

The Optimus is lower in tone and quieter with the .223 and .308 stuff than the Hybrid.

IMO, the Hybrid is a 45/70, 45 can.

I'll let you know when I get it.

Re: Plethora of 1,000 yard rifles.....Which one?

Something about the Tikka not being a true short-action in the short action calibers annoys the hell outta me, but then I shoot it and I forget that it annoys me because it shoots as well as a few customs I've owned. For what you describe, I have a 6.5CM Savage Long Range Hunter. I'm going to have t...
