Re: 1911 in 9mm what to get?

Springfield was new in the box, but a older version without ramped barrel. I believe that newer Springfield 9's have ramped barrels. Colts were used, sold them. A friend of mine had the same issue with his Springfield 9, he sent his to the factory...they replaced the non-ramped barrel with a ramped ...

Re: 1911 in 9mm what to get?

I had a Springfield and 2 Colt series 70 in 9mm, all 3 jammed like crazy with factory and handloads-tried 10 or 12 different magazines. Would only recommend one with a fully ramped barrel as this seemed to be the only cure for the jamming.

Re: Mosin Nagant rifles!

Winchester has brass (ammo too) made by Privi I'm told. J-bullets are easy to come by or roll your own cast bullets like I do.

Re: Recoil spring

Replace the Recoil spring when it has compressed 3 coils shorter than a new one of the same weight and type. Replace the mainspring after you have replaced the recoil spring 3 times, unless there is a noticeable problem. The Mainspring is, by design, 30% over power.

Re: Mosin Nagant rifles!

I stopped at Element Arms on the way to deer hunting. Very nice store. They had 5 crates of Mosin's on the floor and maybe 50-60 on the shelf, mostly round receivers mixed dates late 30's -40's on the ones I looked at. All super nice (re-arsenaled) quite a few all matching numbers. Had a few "h...

Re: Maintenance

Google "Ed's Red" easy to make at home works good for general cleaning, but not a copper remover.
