Re: RMR, FFIII, other????

Your a little off on the open guns. They actually have to make a major power factor(bullet weight x velocity /1000 must be 165 or greater) which in most cases far exceeds factory rated ammo. I shot open for years in 38 super, still have the gun. The open guys mostly run 2011 variants and the optics...

Re: RMR, FFIII, other????

Interesting. So, why are all the top gamers running them? Sincere question, as I am not a pistol guy, and, from what I've seen, there are a lot of dudes shooting really fast with a RDS. I pretty much want one just to try it out, and, as I said, it isn't going to be a "social use" weapon, ...

Re: RMR, FFIII, other????

Freddie Blish, the president of Robar, has been pretty vocal about the RMR being the most durable for pistol use. Pistol RDS get killed by recoil at a very high rate. Thus far, the RMR has been the most reliable. Some have been killed by pistols, but it's a small number when compared to other brands...

Re: How much dry fire practice is recommended?

When Todd Jarrett wanted to become a professional competitive shooter, he was doing 100 per night, every night.

How much is beneficial comes down to how long you can do it without losing interest, getting tired or otherwise experiencing diminished returns.

Re: Anyone carry a Taser?

Say you sprayed a bad guy with pepper spray or mace, he runs away. Threat over. Wimpy bad guy :D Do you have to report you sprayed a guy to the police? It's up to you. Generally speaking, people don't mace other people to attack them unless they also rob them. Any cop in a busy area knows that if y...

Re: AAR: Dave Spaulding Vehicle Combatives 2016

The class was at least 1/3 civilian, and those of us that were LE were happy to have them there. There was no second thought about whether they should be there or not. Modern shooting courses are all heavily integrated with civ, mil and LE and it works perfectly fine. A big portion of this for integ...

Re: Anyone carry a Taser?

Tasers suck. The most common form sold to civilians was the Taser C2, which was replaced by the Bolt and Pulse models for commercial sales. The concept behind a Taser is NMI, or neuro-muscular interruption. You have two probes that must spread out and cover several muscle groups, so that when the el...

Re: Firearms insurance

I have State Farm, and I have a separate blanket policy for firearms up to a specific amount without having to provide further information on my firearms. My guns and accessories exceed that dollar amount, so I have opted to get proper coverage. I have no problem providing my serial numbers, but the...

Do some research on trigger-finger actuation holsters and the increased incidence of negligent discharges. It's a thing.

Re: Ruger selling AR15 lower

Noveske has never made a lower receiver, they have been farmed out to various vendors over the years. You are paying a lot of money for a brand name and nothing more. You are paying money for the name, but most of it is actually for the machining and inspection process. Components receive grading b...

Re: Ruger selling AR15 lower

Not really. If you look at an AR15 lower for $129 and you say that's too expensive, adjust your radar. $129 is right in the middle price range of stripped forged receivers. I don't know where you shop but stripped forged are more in the $60-$100 range typically with $130 being the top end. I wouldn...
