Re: I'm a Handloader!

Dear Mr. Macphisto: We at the reality police hereby inform you that do not possess a sufficient intelligence to be a handloader, and must return all of your handloading equipment AT ONCE, because you were dumb enough to fall for John Boy's "used primer" special. Did you happen to remember ...

Re: Laser sights

"PS. I think that the effect of the red dot on a 300 pound BG on LSD is overrated " True, but the red dot still serves to deter the vast majority of people that you would draw on, and for those who can't or don't want to wake up and smell the coffee, a 300 GRAIN Gold Dot will do what the l...

Re: I'm a Handloader!

THERE IS ONE OTHER THING YOU HAVE TO BUY RIGHT NOW!!! Get yourself a kinetic bullet puller. They're clear blue plastic and only about $10, but you MUST have one. You will screw up, or you may not be sure about that last round you just loaded, and being a newbie and not wanting to waste any bullets o...

Re: Laser sights

Several points: ttousi had a woman student who had never shot a gun before, and she was just plain horrible, and couldn't hit anything at 21 feet, until he handed her his 642 with the LG's, and then she hit the target. We're talking the worst shot you've ever seen in your life w/o Lasergrips, and pa...

Re: Who likes mouseguns?

Actually, Pat Cannon already covered that when he referrred to a .45 ACP as a "poodle shooter" caliber in relation to a .50. And I go with the conventional wisdom that 9mm is minumum ante for a credible self defense caliber, so NOTHING that shoots 9mm ammo, no matter what size it is, quali...

Re: I'm a Handloader!

Yup. Magnum primers are only for magnum rounds, and you don't want to screw up on this. (Particularly with Blue Dot!!)9mm and 38 Spl take normal primers, and the 357 takes magnum. Even hot 10mm loads use regular primers, and Blue Dot is THE powder of choice for 10mm. 45, 45 Super, 40, and 50 GI all ...

Re: Where do you get your COR-BON

I have this vague memory that I got my 10mm CorBon Powerballs through the mail from the factory direct. I'm not completely positive, but that's what I seem to remember... I sure as hell don't remember buying that particular load in any gun store in the Twin Cities...

Re: Midwest Brewing Supplies "Target Practice Kegs"

Alright then!! Sit up straight and pay attention!!! If 5 liters of beer are going South on a train at 32 miles per hour towards East Wankershire, and a Brit is hiding in the weeds 2 miles down the track, assuming a 100% conversion of beer to pee, how big a whizz will the Brit (now out of the weeds a...

Re: Law Enforcement Ammunition

I smell marketing..... It has that kind of "full diaper pail smell" to it. About the only REAL LE ammo I could think of would be the FN 5.7 AP ammo, which is restricted. As for 45 or 9mm - I seriously doubt a LEO could get anything better than Corbon or DoubleTap. Those are loaded all the ...

Re: Lee Loadmaster, is it just cheap or is it half decent?

I have never gone beyond a Lyman cast iron 6 station turret press, so with that caveat in mind here's what I have heard from many other people, and it pretty much agrees with what I know. Lee made its name on producing, cheap, simple, and durable reloading equipment, and I still have the old Lee &qu...
