The fit and finish are nicer on the Baer and Wilson guns. My Baer slide has turned plum colored. Lots of info on 1911forums.com on that peculiarity of the Baer finishes. My reason for not offering suggestions on what to get is that you need to try them and decide. You like the way the Ed Brown fits...

1) what didn't fit? size of grip, angle of grip, length to trigger, etc.? 2) government (full size) or willing to consider smaller sizes which are easier to carry? 3) why the limitation to .45 when they are also available in 9 mm?
