what to use for a holster

so getting my CCP class today, then will apply for the permit Monday. Planning for carrying, and would like some tips on holsters, where and how to carry (physically). I am a bigger guy (6', 265), but losing weight. I still got a muffin top in pants, so I question if IWB will be prohibitively uncomf...

Re: What to buy? Typical newb question

9Mm is first to satisfy my desire to target shoot without breaking the bank on ammo. .45 won't be far behind

Re: Varmint rifle suggestions?

OK, so I'm pretty new to the varmint calibers. I liked the .223 WSSM because it was super hot, and I'm a "biggest, fastest" fan. Big ATV, turbo car, fastest snowmobile, etc. So the fastest gun is what I want. I am backing off that a little, so I don't necessarily need the absolute fastest ...

Re: What to buy? Typical newb question

Cost isn't a MAJOR consideration. I want a good, reliable, ACCURATE gun. Just trying to save a little $ where I can as I am going to be buying a varmint rifle, scope, etc right around the same time. Would like to keep the cost of both in the $1,500 range. I have experience with Sigs (sorry, don't re...

Re: Greetings from Forest Lake area

Hey MNBlackjack, are you the FFL listed in LIndstrom? HAHA, you won't get much competition from me. Just home sales to friends at first. Who knows what will happen down the road. I got it because my dad had an FFL for 20 years, and he wigged when they tripled the rates from $30/3 years to $90/3 year...

Varmint rifle suggestions?

Hey guys, So I am going to get a new varmint rifle this spring. Recently had a Remington .223 WSSM. I really liked that, but sold it when money was tight. Thinking about another. One benefit is I still have about 250 brass casings for reloading, and the dies. Downside is I have read a lot about barr...

What to buy? Typical newb question

So I'm looking to buy a new handgun. Semi-auto, and likely 9mm. Like the 9 as I will do a lot of target shooting, and ammo is cheapest. will likely be also getting a 10mm, .40, or .45 before too long too. I found what I think is a really good deal on a brand new Sig Sauer 9mm P2022, only $419 cash p...

Re: Greetings from Forest Lake area

Hey Comet, Thanks for the welcome. I will certainly encourage her to get one. I'd even get her a gun to carry in her car/purse, and buy her permit. But I think she will refuse to carry. she just wants to know the basics so if someone breaks in when I'm gone, she can mow 'em down. LOL. We had a guy o...

Greetings from Forest Lake area

Hey all, Glad to have found this place. My name's Matt, and I live up in the Lakes area on highway 8 northeast of Forest Lake. Been into guns my whole life. Unfortunately when I was younger I went through a lot of guns. Would buy when I had money, shoot a while, then sell when money got tight. Had s...
