Re: Took my 13 yo son to BV pistol range today

Ah yes - I'm 68, and have been shooting 22 rifles for 63 years and 22 pistols for 62 years. When I was 5 I found a 22 pump rifle in a closet in the house, and said "What's this??" Turned out it belonged to my mother, and it was a rifle that came from an NRA marksmanship program somewhere. ...

Re: Got my hand Cannon iv been looking for.

Well, time to eat some crow. I was unaware that Taurus had upgraded their initial Judge boat anchor that was 45LC/410 to a 454/410. That being said, it's still a boat anchor. Clearly, a 460 has the zip to it, and a barrel that allows you to make a shot at more than 15 feet. As far as using 410 shots...

Re: Got my hand Cannon iv been looking for.

Every time I see one of these, I shake my head. The traditional purpose for a snubnose handgun is light weight and concealability, and this boat anchor is NEITHER. As a matter of fact, it's about as far away from an EDC gun as you can get, with the possible exception of a Smith 500. As a carr...

Re: Adding a caliber...

Neither are as off the wall or depraved as my 9x25 SSX (Seismic Sam Xpress) - the cartridge puts a 90 grain 9mm hollowpoint out of a 6" barrel at 2150 FPS..... :( :o  :? Unfortunately, it looks like a plain old EAA, so it has very little intrinsic fugliness.... I do find it interesting t...

Re: 10X (Blue Lakes) Ammo

I still think you should name the company doing the training, as this is a pretty serious safety and MANAGEMENT infraction that could have gotten somebody hurt. They buy crappy re-manufactured ammo from God only knows where, and perhaps the half sober uncle of one of the owners/trainers, and then es...

Re: Bad Day At The Range

Some COMPLETE IDJIT mounted a laser on a Hi Point with electrical tape so he could be tacticool?? This potential Darwin Award winner probably has to buy snoose that has directions for use on the package! Clearly not a high enough IQ to reed the manual, much less handload!! 2nd place is the guy who b...

Re: Crimping vs neck tension

I crimp anything in auto guns and dangerous game calibers. Heavy bullet revolver loads are also crimped. I have seen some substantial set back with .223 ammo in an AR with uncrimped factory ammo. I always figured if uncle wanted it crimped, it was for a good reason. However, it does reduce accuracy...

Re: New: Ruger SR1911 Target in 10mm

And as you might suspect, the term "Brown Bear" is MORE than folksy enough to have a brand of snoose (Minnezotah spelling, yah, suure, yew betcha!) named after it. The health warning is at least accurate, and this is one Brown Bear you can't use a 10mm to kill or run off. https://uploa...

Re: New: Ruger SR1911 Target in 10mm

Did you mean expensive BRASS or expensive AMMO?? Most 10mm ammo is watered down crap, and is barely faster than 40 Short & Weak ammo. The original spec for 10mm is a 200 grain bullet at 1200 FPS :( :o  :? , and for the Short & Weak it's a 180 grain bullet at 980 FPS. The cheap 10mm cr...
