Re: Burnsville Practical Pistol Winter League - 2013

Can I still join if I did not goto orientation, and I am new to comp shooting. How many magazines are required? Don't laugh, but is rimfire allowed? Thanks, looks like fun. You can probably get by with 2 or 3. I believe .22 is allowed in this league, but your available points to score will be very ...

Re: Mag Vault

Are you looking for theft prevention or kiddo prevention? Pete was a fan of putting guns on the inside wall above closet doors. If you didn't know it was there, not many people would ever notice it. A simple hanger could be built up there and then you could use a traditional cable gun lock lagged t...

Re: Mag Vault

Any gun safe or lock thst uses a wafer lock makes me cringe as they typically are cheap and take seconds to pick. That aside for home defense I'd much rather store it in condition 1. Sentry makes a pretty neat safe for storing a rifle or shotgun and a handgun for just that purpose. http://www.sentr...

Re: Why no used M&Ps FS ?

Last Sunday at the MWCA show in Rochester I happened to be near a vendor who sells magazines. A guy walked up and asked him if he had any M&P mags (17rds maybe?) the vendor says yes one left. He walked down his table and the fellow took a look and his eyeballs fell out and bounced across the fl...

Re: Why no used M&Ps FS ?

I am in the flaw catagory and have had it happen with other semi autos as well. Does it do it more often now then when new? How how often do you use the slide stop as a slide release? Rarely, but mine is rather stiff and takes some muscle to operate. Bought my M&P last fall. I wouldn't be surpr...

Re: Why no used M&Ps FS ?

How can it slam fire with a firing pin safety? Any evidence of this happening or is it theory? Theory, I've heard it happening before while slingshotting a slide. I would consider #3 a "worst case" scenario. The first two issues are enough for me not to do it. You've heard of it as in, it...

Re: Why no used M&Ps FS ?

Auto forwarding is discussed on other forums. Some people think its a design flaw, other a purposeful technique. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=136819 From what I gather there are three main downsides to auto forwarding: 1. You're technique as to be perfect, reliability of this ...

Re: Gun Crimes - Just the FACTS!

With all the threads out on the internets I thought it would be a good idea to bump this post. I think it would be helpful to include as many facts in our writings as possible, the clichés I read being thrown about are exhausting and I'm sure anti-gun folks don't get past the first few in any writing.
