Re: AR9 suggestions?

Check out New Frontier Armory. They seem to be low on stock, but it seems to hit your list of wants. I have only about 300 rounds through mine and no issues even with cheap ETM mags. I did not opt for LRBO just because I’m cheap. I was reluctant to order one at first because of some of the dorky eng...

Re: Old .30-06 I need a safety check by gunsmith

Bob fixed my stuck bolt and his web site shows he does work on Rem Bolt actions. I have also had rifle work done by Jim and been very satisfied. Not sure if either work on Garands. If the action cycles and the bore looks ok, I’d give it a good cleaning and give it a go...that’s just me. Watch your t...

Re: need help question about a s&w model 67 no dash

Learned something new! If you haven’t shot a K frame Smith with a wadcutter load, you should give it a go before you sell/trade it. You might be surprised how easy it is to shoot accurately.

Re: need help question about a s&w model 67 no dash

Not sure on the sideways roll mark. I’m no expert, but have had my share of S&W revolvers. This is a nice early S&W K frame Combat Masterpiece with stainless sights. These weren’t exactly rare and were used by LEO back in the day. Condition is everything and based on the limited pics, this l...

Re: 1911s

I never considered Sigs due to price until I actually shot one. I think this is one of the better deals and have been trying to resist: https://www.1911addicts.com/threads/sig-sauer-stainless-1911-45acp-target-below-cost.67523/#post-1090495 It’s a target version, so may not be exactly what your look...

Re: What’s it worth? Dan Wesson 15-2

I think I paid $450 for stainless DW with the 4” and 8” barrel a few years ago. One of the best triggers on a revolver!

Re: Long Range Endeavor: Tikka CTR or Tikka TAC both in 6.5Cr ?

If you want to stick with Tikka, another option would be an Eliseo tube chassis. They make a version for a Tikka action and you may even be able to use one of your hunting Tikka actions. A smith could chamber couple of barrels in different calibers for what ever you will be shooting. This would allo...

Re: Help me build a super accurate AR15

+1 for JP. They sell barrels separately. Probably a few more bucks than a Kreiger. My JP15 has been my most accurate AR. Kreigers are good, too. I have them on all my bolt guns and an AR. Wait times can be long...

Re: Suburban Rabbit Jihad suggestions.

I used Liquid Fence on my flower bed. May not be economical on really large areas and it stinks. But, it worked. I never seem to have my pellet rifle handy when I see the chubby buggers!

Re: Magwell Vice Blocks

Like others have said it's nice to have, but not a necessity. I have a Promag somewhere, but can never find it when I need it and still managed to put a lower together. Like Prep4 noted, spend the money on a nice set of punches. Obsidian in Little Canada makes a nice set that includes a flat punch.

Re: Elk River Sportsman's F-Class/Long Range

The weight of the cast iron will make the rest more stable. You can also add lead shot to an aluminium version. I went with a Cowan rest which at the time was cheaper than the Bald Eagle. The Cowan is really well-built. I've seen others shoot very well with old Bald Eagle rests and many benchrest re...

Re: Rem 700 gurus or local gunsmith?

Hopefully, the mag will fix it.

If it doesn't, see if this link helps.

Re: Rem 700 gurus or local gunsmith?

No expert. But if it were mine, I would 1) confirm you are using the right mag 2) check that action screws are tight and that the dbm is seated properly 3) visually check to see if the rounds are level in the action with the mag inserted normally, if not you need to figure out what is tweaking it. T...
