Re: Would you pick Smith 586 or Ruger GP100 for your only revolv

The Wesson gets my vote, too. If the one at Bill's is in good shape, it's a fair price compared to what a comparable used Smith or GP100 would cost. It should already have a nice trigger and chamfered chambers. Only drawback is the fixed sight. IMO, it is priced a bit on the higher side for a Wesson.

Re: Making my own WD-40...where to buy Kerosene.

Haven't bought any recently, but I think Menards and Home Debit sell them in pre packed 1gallons. Might be hard to find since it's summer. Yellow cans are for diesel. All the places I used to buy kerosene would only pump into a blue container.

Re: Powder soon?

I was at the Rogers Cabelas yesterday and they had a good supply of IMR 4350, 4064 and 4895 in 1# cans. Also had a pretty good supply of CCI primers for pistol and rifle. Did not see any pistol powders or Varget.

Re: NRA museum in Fairfax VA

Would second H&H's recommendation. I was there in February and it was really neat to see the different periods of guns. A lot of early blackpowder historical arms. It gave me a better apreciation of the work and craftsmanship in the early days. They even had a section on movie guns. FYI, it is i...

Re: H&R 12G Tracker Sighting Problems

Thanks Badger. Tried to bore sight it through the barrel yesterday, but same problem. Ended up maxing out the elevation and windage adjustments. It was more than 1ft low at about 25yds. I didn't waste any more ammo and just told my friend to call Gander/H&R and see if they could do anything.

Re: H&R 12G Tracker Sighting Problems

Leupold PRW steel scope rings Leupold 4-10x50 The scope base is mounted bg H&R at the factory and does not appear to be adjustable I have mounted the scope/rings on another rifle and it sighted in within a a few clicks. I aligned the rings to the base using a scope bar and torqued the ring screw...

H&R 12G Tracker Sighting Problems

I am having issues with getting a scope/gun to shoot straight. I remounted and boresighted a scope onto a single shot H&R 12G slug gun and had to crank the elevation and windage all the way up and left. It lines up with the boresighter, but still shoots low at 50yds. I can't tell if the scope ba...

Re: Gun Show

The usual dealers and it seemed slow for a Saturday afternoon. Not sure if they are new, but I did notice a billet AR lower from Pine Island(?) for $150. Not sure if Pine Island is the brand or where they were from. Looked ok and at a decent price point. Anyone try one of these?

Re: Dan wesson opinion

Just be sure it's not a fixed barrel which were less expensive and not built as well. My DW still has the best trigger of all my revolvers and is very accurate. Be sure to check the timing and lockup. Haven't checked prices lately, but $500 seems on the high side. I picked my minty stainless version...

Re: Rebuilding a Rock island 1911?

Might checkout the AGI 1911 video, too. When I had similar interests in building my Norc, this was recommended. I have seen excerpts from the video and decided I would be likely be ahead money wise sending it out rather than fubaring it myself. Not sure, but I would think you could still apply basic...

Re: Wolf's Den has powder

I've stopped by the WD more than my fair share of times and there are a couple of regulars that hang around. I think it's like the local bar for them and never had an issue with them. In fact, just the opposite. I once fubared field stripping a gun and got it really stuck beyond my abilities. They w...

Re: Anywhere in the metro ar lower receiver vise block?

Atomic has a couple versions. I picked up the basic Pro Mag version for $14. FYI, they keep regular office hours.

Re: Value of Police trade-in Glocks?

Erik_Pakieser wrote:I concur with the others. A police trade-in should be between $300-$400. I just paid $350 for a like-new condition G19.

Any chance there are more G19s in that price range?

Re: 50 Cal GI Ammo Box? Looking for lowest price

There's usually a guy at the MWCA shows selling them for $15/each. I have not seen them any cheaper locally. Arnzen Arms carries the plastic versions for $10, too. I tried one and even full they are pretty sturdy. The only issue is they are bulkier than the GI can.
