Re: Minneapolis police tell residents to obey criminals

Sadly, women have been (figuratively) getting the shaft on self-defense shootings involving rape, with courts consistently ruling that once a rapist succeeds, shooting him is revenge not defense. Seems reasonable to suggest that it's preemptive defense of the otherwise inevitable next victim.

Re: H.R.7468 - Stop Home Manufacture of Ghost Guns Act of 2020

The language in the bill: (36) The term ‘firearm manufacturing machine’ means— (A) a device designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be used primarily to make, or convert a product into, a frame or receiver for a firearm; and (B) any combination of parts designed or intended for use ...

Great question.

CNC machine?

Drill press?

Hand-held router?

3D printer...which is why the bill, if turned into law, would be completely unenforceable.

Re: neighborhood that vowed not to call police being tested

In the meantime, 3 Minneapolis city council members get private security due to threats. https://www.theblaze.com/news/minneapolis-city-council-which-voted-to-defund-police-hires-private-security Not sure of the official stances these members have on gun control. Given that they're all ...

Good question - an empty, burned out husk of a building doesn't seem like it would be worth guarding.

Re: PTC renewal

'being forced' to accept online voting in the fall election. Online voting would almost have to involve some sort of identity verification, wouldn't it? Seems like that at least has the potential to be better than our current system. (Not saying it necessarily would be better, just that it *could* ...

Re: Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

This line from the article seemed questionable to me - anybody able to attest to the accuracy of this statement? Why wouldn't you be able to adjust the internal geometry of a brass case?

With a brass cartridge case, "you can't do anything to change the interior geometry," Hogan said.

Re: Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

Need Russstra to explain polymers. I would think if a polymer gets hot enough it melts or burns. That's exactly what I thought, but the article says the polymer actually helps keep the chamber cooler. This is the kind of thing I was hoping to discuss. It's fascinating to me that polymer is even a p...

Re: Reloading in 2020

Well, whatever the pay rate is for a professional M1 Garand shooter is. So I guess you’ll have to look up what an E1 in WWII was paid, and then calculate your hours based on that. Mail the invoice directly to H&H’s house, he’ll pay it. Don't forget to adjust for 75 years worth of inflation. :)

Re: Reloading in 2020

For me hunting time is family time, and that's priceless. :D Nonsense, everything has a price. You need to be billing someone for your hourly wage, unless you are some kind of sucker. I'll make sure to bill the range at my hourly rate from my job next time I'm running a timer or scoring at a USPSA ...

Re: Reloading in 2020

In all of this, you've never specified what specific hourly rate you value your non-work hours at. How is that relevant? I am not the one claiming $5 per box retail equivalent. You're the one who is claiming that his time is super valuable. I just don't see how that makes sense without some sort of...

Re: Looking for good deals on bulk projectiles

For 9mm, you can get significantly cheaper than the 8.3 cents/bullet you're quoting by going to coated bullets. http://thebluebullets.com has 115 grain 9mm round nose for ~6.3 cents/bullet when you order case quantities, and every year on Black Friday, they do 15% off, which would make it ~5...
