Re: J frame/revolver experts - lubrication

Look at your areas of metal/metal contact. If it slides, grease it, if it rotates oil it.

Re: Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 12ga 1170 FPS #7.5 Review

If you are looking for a load to try at a price point, try Estates. My son used that exact same model gun last year for HS trap, went through 7 cases at less than $50 per case (so under $5 per box) of their 8 shot target loads. Never had a malfunction of any kind. Where did you find Estates for tha...

Re: Offering permit if pulled over

Depends on the situation. If I'm in the 7-county metro area, I'll shut up until asked. Way to many cops with little man syndrome running around. Outstate, I've been clipped a couple times, and always show my PTC with my DL. They law enforcement out there seems to "get it" a lot more. Diffe...

Re: scope maxed out....

All I did on it was a scope swap. I didn't do anything else to it. You have to consider the specs of the optic you are installing. If you are replacing an optic with 80moa of adjustment, with an optic of 60 MOA of adjustment, it's not a 1:1 replacement. Center the adjustment range of the optic, and...

Re: scope maxed out....

You've got a mounting issue. A properly aligned base/ring combo should keep you within 6-8" of the center of the scopes range at 100yds. If you are using more than 12" of adjustment, you should check your setup. Somethings not right.

Re: New Brass Case Company

So if you go to their "How we make brass" page the first two pictures they say are "Photo courtesy of Aurubis". Aurubis seems to be a large copper supplier in Europe (with no US presence). It also says at the top of that page "The steps below show Peterson Cartridge's brass...

Re: What's your perception of current and future deer hunting?

Are you in good enough shape to walk a ways and get a deer out from a mile away from a road? If so, there is a lot of places to hunt that won't be too crowded. Well, other than the first 300 yards from the road....... ^this. MN has a plethora of public lands. Most hunters don't trek further than 10...

Re: Road Hunting Grouse

"Minnesota: The State Where Absolutely Nothing Is Allowed" Minnesota's hunting laws drive me crazy. Here are pages one through six of North Dakota's hunting laws: https://gf.nd.gov/gnf/regulations/docs/smallgame/small-game-guide.pdf Here are pages one through one hundred a...

Unless you have a tax stamped lower, or a pistol lower, you shouldn't be putting that upper on anything....

Re: AAC 300 Blackout Suspicious Barrel

Does the cut for the gas block look like it may have been done with a drill press? I'm guessing it's from a pinned gas block such as a Geissele bomb proof installation. https://d3cfki0l5o2ps6.cloudfront.net/media/files/super-gas-block-ai.pdf The gouge marks may be from whatever fixt...

Re: South Dakota Pheasant Report: How's it looking?

Is Ethanol production still driving corn prices? Always will to some extent, but the cash price has stabilized over the last couple years. The days of $7-8/bushel have passed. Current spot price is $3.40/bushel. South Dakota has seen a dramatic reduction in CRP acres as old contracts have expired, ...

Re: Hunting with AR pistol

The wife and I have shot four or five.

Old load was a 125 Nosler BT over N110 2100fps.

This year we will be transitioning over 225g TNT over H110.

We can get sufficient velocity to get expansion to just over 200yds.

Re: Shotgun fit for a woman

Another issue with shotgun fit, that guys don't think about, is how the stock and the chesticles interface. Too much focus is placed on the LOP, and not on cast. For many women, they need a strong cast-off, with an opposing and downward pitch to be more comfortable. My wife (5'1") has actually ...
