Thanks, OldmanFSCA, for the lesson

I spent some time with OldmanFSCA tonight learning the ropes of reloading. He took a lot of time to lay out the basics and answer all the questions I dreamed up. Though I was pretty well versed on the concepts, having had a hands-on session with someone that experienced was a great benefit. I'm cert...

Re: gun ban and mag ban bills pulled!

What does 'black' have to do with a background check?? You conduct a background check to see what the person's past behavior was. A person applying for a job is 'choosing' to apply, just as a person 'choosing' to buy one is. You seriously don't get the difference between choosing to buy a guy and c...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

The problem isn't that we don't have a way to do background checks, it is that fundamentally the concept of a mandatory background check MUST necessarily be tied to a paper trail - gun registration. You can't say "every sale must have a background check" and then not have a requirement to...

Re: gun ban and mag ban bills pulled!

why is bg checking on non-criminals legal, but bg check for employment racist? EXCELLENT POINT! Because you can choose to own a gun. You can't choose to not be black. What does 'black' have to do with a background check?? You conduct a background check to see what the person's past behavior was. A ...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

The current bills being proposed would do exactly that. OTOH, our current PTP/PTC system allows a seller to determine that a buyer has passed a background check, without creating a paper trail. Making a PTP or PTC mandatory for all private firearms transactions would accomplish what they claim to w...

Re: So, I guess the Senate will not hear any *Ban* proposals

Hats off to Sen. Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee!!! This means exactly what it says! Skoal!! But stay alert and be ready for anything. We need to be sure there are no background checks for transfers to family members. Now we wait for the fat lady to sing. Bu...

Re: .300 BLK Anywhere?

Thanks for the tip. $50 for 20 rounds is a bit on the harsh side though.

Re: HF 241

by my understanding- this bill would also ban the Marlin model 60 .22 with a 15 round fixed magazine-- the registration fee costs more than the rifle is worth. Yes. And many, many others. That is the information we need to be disseminating to anyone we possibly can so they can understand just how f...

Re: They'd never go door-to-door...

Why is the national media picking up on the proposed legislation in CO, MO, and WA but failing to mention all the crap on the table in MN? It's as big of news as anywhere else: confiscation, registration, home searches, forfeiture-on-death, etc.

Re: What now?

Urge your friends to do the same. You DO have friends, right? ;) +1 Educate them all on what EXACTLY is being proposed and what real-life effects it will have if passed. The fact that so many different firearms would become 'assault weapons' and be banned, that they would be subject to $200 fees, b...

Re: .300 BLK Anywhere?

I'm a little surprised somebody would get into 300 Blackout withOUT reloading. A wildcat round like that which is just begging to be fiddled with for different bullet options and those subsonic rounds, and people just want to buy factory stuff?? Was somebody under the impression that there was no d...

.300 BLK Anywhere?

If anyone knows a place that has some .300 BLK could you post it here? Found exactly 0 from any online sources and various local places in the past couple weeks have had none. I didn't expect much locally since it is not nearly as popular as many other calibers.

Thanks!

Re: Family friendly gun range

Minnetonka Game and Fish Club north of Elk River is about as family friendly as you could get. Most of the time you can find a range to have to yourself and set things up however you want.

Re: Federal Ammo Backlog & Shortages

Admittedly I am no business person, but I have to wonder how a company can have 3 years' worth of backlog and not justify a capital expansion to their line? I've had several buddies who used to work for Federal and were able to take advantage of the employee store. I wonder how that is doing these d...
