Re: Manufacture replacing handgun question

I have had folks deal with it both ways. I think it depends on the manufacturer. I had a Win model 70 that they sent me a "new" one, and I had to go through the FFL check, etc. although the company did it free of charge. I have had a couple of shotguns that they just mailed me the new one ...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

As the so called original troll or douche, whichever... (love how all the guys using those terms never use a real name...) I simply disagree with the policy. Advertising costs are built in to the product. Sorry, Glock is not losing money because of the LE/Mil gun deal; if they are not, where does th...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

Point noted.

Admittedly, its not the same, and probably not the best analogy, but the point I was trying to make was how shrill the personal comments some were making about me just because I dared to say I disagreed with it.

Thanks for getting the point though.

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

I guess I don't see it the way that most of you do. I am not denigrating the service that LE/Military folks do; rather I don't care for the divide and conquer business model these companies are using. Certainly, its their right to do so, and if it does better by them business wise. If I want to than...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

Actually, guys it was intended to be a sarcastic response. I do stand by it though. Not to say I might not buy one at a higher price if I really need it, but given that I already have a handgun or two, I can be much more picky now. Unless I get it at LEO pricing or better, I doubt I am buying anothe...

Re: Glock Military and LE Special Pricing

Good to see that.

Now I know just how much to spend on a Glock. (and no more...)

And no, I'm not LEO or Military, but what they can afford to sell to one private citizen, they can afford to another.

Re: Such a difference

As to advantages in hunting, they are there. Its not an advantage to the first guy to shoot an animal in an area- generally, that one is unaware. However, in most areas around MN you are very unlikely to be the very first fellow hunting that spot for the year (by spot I mean within hearing distance)...

Re: Form 4 and SBR buying questions.

If it's an individual tax stamp, it just means that you keep the combo to the safe yourself. I would not want to use any NFA weapon as a self defense gun, as it opens one up for liability issues I have been told. ( Full auto for sure, SBR, I don't know, and would not want to be the test case.) Also,...

Re: Form 4 and SBR buying questions.

I have not done a trust, but as it was explained to me, it has 2 major advantages for buyers. First, it removes the requirement for CLEO sign off. Secondly, it allows for more than one person to have the firearm- in essence, anyone who is listed on the trust as a trustee can have possession of the g...

Re: Action Pistol shoots starting up in Morris, MN

I have used Target Barn a few years at faribault. they sell both IDPA and USPSA. Law enforcement targets in the metro is also a choice. Local folks. I know that we brought there when one of us could go and get them for considerable savings. Alco also has been used by some of the clubs in the past. T...

Re: best small .380

Personally, I like the colt Mustang better than the rest of them, but they can be hard to find.

Re: Surefire 60 round AR mags?

Tim is really right on with this. The whole reason they came up with the surefire mags was for 3 gun competition. They are trying to expand the interval between reloads, and there are more than a few stages that require 40 or so shots to complete, add in the misses and make ups, and that is why they...

Re: Which press?

I would vote for a Dillon 550 if you are thinking one press for many years. If you are someone who likes to upgrade, get a single stage press. You may never outgrow it, but they are cheaper than the turrets or progressives, and I still use one. RCBS, Redding, Lyman, Hornady (just don't get the LnL I...

Re: How much rifle ammo (NOT including 22LR) do you shoot each Y

This is something I shoot in spurts. I haven't pulled a trigger since December, but come summer I usually end up not getting the work in I should on the rifle. I think I average 500 rounds a year. Some years, if my work schedule and the 3 gun schedule all align, I can shoot a couple thousand rounds ...

Shoot IPSC, IDPA and 3 gun. Lots of trigger time there.
