Re: Strikefire Optics

Vortex is the brand, Strikefire is the model. Vortex is a WI based company with a great reputation. I know on some of there optics they offer a 100% lifetime guarantee (i dont believe it applies to red dots).

Re: how to clean optic lenses?

Lens cloth or lens pen here depending on what is available. I have used the alcohol method too it works about the same as a lens wipe. You can get disposable Zeiss brand lens wipes at Walmart for about $4 for a 100. I always keep a few in my range bag as well as my hunting pack.

Re: WTB .45 acp bullets

Lead bullets is why we reload 45acp. Embrace the lead! I would call Hoffys and have them order some RedRiver cast bullets for you.

Re: So, where to go for some 1911 work...

Sounds like you need/want a full custom gun. Paul Grundhauser is your local source for this type of work. Personally I wouldnt dump all of that money in to a Ruger, start from scratch and you will likely end up with a better finished product. Paul has custom 1911's starting at $2595 on his website a...

This is horrible advice. Get the right tool for the job if you choose to dismantle yourself (a bullet puller) available for less than $20 from anyone who sells reloading equipment.

Re: ArmsList gets sued

I think tha'ts the Brady Groups point. They will take a small victory on any front and use it a springboard to take more of our rights away.

Re: Bow advise

I currently have a 2009 bowtech captain with a case for $650 bucks. Packaged and everything. In my opinion thats a lot better of a deal :D Not just sayin that cuz I want to sell it either. $300 bucks is a lot of cheese to throw at that bow. Especially if ya really get the bug, cuz you will want to ...

Re: .223 Brass processing

I just had Retread handle a couple thousand pieces of brass for me. They came back looking and measuring up good. I wont likely get around to loading any of them until after the 1st of the year. I will leave a review when I do. He was great to deal with. I dropped my brass off and had him ship it ba...

Re: Dialing in accuracy

I have an X5 as well, its a tack driver and I cant imagine it getting much better. With a Barsto barrel and Bruces work it should easily allow you to live up to your goals. If your interested in learning some mental management techniques check out Lanny Basham's "With winning in mind". I r...

Re: Transfer fee question for the FFLs on the board

Its been my experience to be charged per transaction and not necessarily per weapon. As stated above up to five serial #'s can fit on the form.

Re: .223 ammo

If you dont find the performance you are seeking with Wolf I would look at some BlackHills, they have a great reputation and there 68gr SMK load is a legendary performer.
