Huh, less than we would have gotten for a pistol brace if it had stuck…

Re: MNGOC position on a bill in the MN house/senate

Hmmm I wasn’t able to find the official position posted. But then again, the site isn’t very mobile friendly so I didn’t spend a lot of time trying to track it down. Unfortunate about your position though. Or maybe it is just a reflection of the user’s ability? We know it is not due to lead exposur...

Re: Wildcat or Savage Mark ii?

I'm greatly leaning towards the Savage. Seems like there is good product support and people seem happy with it. I feel with a bolt action you feel a little more connected to each shot. Local place can get me the Mark ii G ( wood stock) For $250.00 which feels reasonable. Walmart does have a non-acc...

Re: Wildcat or Savage Mark ii?

Savage Mark 2 is a fine rifle. Accurate and would make an awesome gift. Love mine.

I have no experience with the wildcat.

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

You obviously have never been to a trap range before. If you had you would realize how stupid your comments sound. There is no more lead exposure risk shooting at a trap range than riding in aTesla. But you don’t care because one fits your narrative and the other doesn’t.

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/lead-gasoline-blunted-iq-half-us-population-study-rcna19028 But wait, it's ok because it's only half of the country. And this is probably wrong, because people weren't drinking gasoline, right? It has to be swallowed to have a negative effect? Exposure to ...

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

But banning lead shot? It's a proposal that indicates severe ignorance about what the actual problem is. Mr Strawser, what is the MNGOC's position on this bill? Here is some interesting info. Non-lead primers are a thing too. Is this proposed law also requiring non-lead primers along with the steel...

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

Steel target loads are currently about 2.5 -3 times the cost. IF the state made the HS league switch demand would quickly outstrip supply. You would be lucky to find it at that price point if you could get it at all.

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

Hunting wise there are bismuth shot, tungsten/iron, tungsten polymer matrix, tungsten, copper, tin, and bronze all which have passed USFWS muster. Lead then steel at commercial rates, although steel at bulk can be cheaper than lead; then bismuth; then copper (although I haven’t seen copper shot in ...

Re: Minnesota Lead Ban and High School Trap

If they really cared about children you would think that they would first ban backyard pools. Or I dunno, maybe fund gun safety in schools? What's to be funded? Open up a classroom, and step back as a thousand certified volunteer instructors take over... I stand corrected, I should have said allowed.
