Re: upcomming 3-GUN events

Have you guys ever had someone show up and run a Ak? I want to try 3 gun out next year but don't want to build a AR until I know its something I want to do. I'd be using either a 1100 or a 870 depending on which one seems to be a better fit for 3 gun matches since I already own both, just need shor...

Re: .357 Sig vs. .40?! ... vs. .45?!

Interesting persepective from an ER doctors point of view. It's a little long so to sum up...handguns suck at killing people. I know, not exactly a newsflash but...

Re: Steel challenge locally?

I see two more at Harris (Gopher Rifle and Revolver) on the calender. Dates are always subject to change or cancellation at this club so check before going if you're not on Bob Mill's e-mail list. September 23rd October 7th I try to make these matches as they do allow .22 pistols and rifles and also...

Re: IDPA or USPSA?

All I know is, in one you wear jockey silks and in the other you wear a fishing vest. :rotf: This is awesome, Pat. I will agree with Grousemaster. IDPA looks more like my speed and I intend to try it out a few times...eventually. What I am really waiting on is for one of you goons with a bunch of l...

Re: Looking at building an AR SBR...

Joe: Thanks for the link, I'll look into the build cost. I wish there was a company that could do sterilized or custom lowers so I could have my own SN (other than the SBR #) and such (I have a specific Image I'd want on the side)... I think the only way to get a custom serial # is to make it yours...

Re: Red Dawn 2012 Trailer released

Gray State looks better and it hasn't even been made, yet. They only have a concept trailer so far.

Re: Red Dot recommendation for Ruger 22/45 Lite

Keith, You are right, I forgot all about that. This model is tapped to accept a scope mount or rail. I'll let him know of the two options put forth. He is a "need to hold it in my hand" kind of guy and besides that I don't think he has a credit card or is particularly interwebz saavy, so ...

Re: Red Dot recommendation for Ruger 22/45 Lite

The Mico Dot is the one I keep running into. He says he is not interested in the reflex type and wants the barrel type - not interested in magnification - like I said neither one of us knows that much about it. I've gotten some education just researching, but there is no substitute for hands on exp...

Re: Woodchuck Problem

I think that a baited jar of tannerite would be fun. Wait for woodchuck to position him/herself over jar to eat bait.... hit jar with .30-06, turn woodchuck inside out into pulpy bloody mess. Post video on youtube with keywords like "PETA" and "Animal rights" and "Kittens&q...

Re: Woodchuck Problem

I've killed about 15 of them on my property here in the last couple years without trying hard at all. All with a .22 LR. CCI Quik Shok drops 'em in their tracks with one shot. I've been using the subsonic version as I am only 2 miles from the county courthouse. Shot one last Sunday morning actually....

Re: New to the site, need some info from the experts!

Pulled out a 10" thick block of cut wood. Surprised as hell, from about 10 yards away the 545 would go clean thru it. Never underestimate surplus rifle ammo's ability to penetrate. It is amazing what that stuff can do. Welcome to the forum! yeah, that stuff is mostly steel core. aka Armor Peir...

Re: Insurance for your collection

Reading some other forums lots of people are using these guys and seem happy. I believe you only have to schedule anything wort...
