Re: New EDC Photo Shoot

I like your XDs9. If I had the spare change, I just might spring for one, albeit I have its .45ACP big brother. ;)

Re: Any one build a 6.5 Creedmoor?

I personally would never waste my money on a typical "combo" offer. IMO, the optics are at the low end of the scale. They are cheap and so you get what you pay for.

Re: Short Barrel .38 Special Loads

PowerBurn14,
How do the velocities check out for your reloads compared to the factory loads you mentioned?

Re: Ruger LCR

Arizona, you just posted that photo to brag about how much ammo you found, didn't you? ;)

Pat,
You caught me on that one. Actually, I got that some time ago....back before things got crazy. But it sure does shoot nice in the LCR. ;)

Re: Ruger LCR

The number of semi-autos I have far outweighs the revolvers. That being said, I have the Ruger LCR .38 Spl and find it to be a nice shooter and my go to gun when I want to carry a revolver. The Crimson Trace grips make a great upgrade for it and the trigger is smooth and easy to manage. http://w...

Re: Tula Brass Maxx?

From what I could find it looks to be lead core and possibly made by Fiocchi from what I have read on other forums, but I haven't read anything confirming it 100%. Seems good to go and a pretty hot load compared to Federal AE which has a muzzle velocity of 1180 according to the federal website and ...

Re: Reflex sight for 22

Glad you found one you liked. Looks nice on that pistol. I went with a smaller profile reflex sight...from Burris, their Fast Fire II model. It weighs in at just 1.6 ounces. I bought it before the had the Fast Fire III on the market. If I were doing it again, I would probably get the III has it has ...

Re: Springfield XD-S recall

Got mine back on Thursday. Haven't taken it to the range (probably Monday I will) so can say how it shoots. I put my electronic trigger pull gauge on it and it gained a pound and 4 ounces. While I was not impressed with that, I was quite satisfied in how the trigger felt. Pre-recall, it basically su...

Just curious as what to which two handguns you were shooting that together couldn't survive 4 hours of use?

Re: Defensive ammo reliability testing

On a new handgun, I'll break it in (several hundred rounds) using my normal range practice rounds. If I have problems at that point in time, the handgun is sold. If it makes it past the FMJ, I'll test it with several of my own handloads using various hollow points, etc. Finally, I'll shoot 20 or 25 ...

Every XDs, both .45 and 9mm, are in the recall. If you own one, it is in the recall.

Re: Treat plated same as FMJ?

Use the lead data unless you particular brand of plated says differently (not likely except for some heavy plated). IE HBRN Berry's is a heavy plate that can be pushed close to FMJ velocities. If you read Berry's FAQ, you wouldn't be pushing them any more than than half of a max jacketed load....th...

Re: Crimson Trace Grips Caput?

FJ540 wrote:My only gripe about the CTC grips on the j-frame is that they don't fit my hand as well as the stock ones did.

That is basically the same issue I had with my Ruger LCR. The factory grips fit better and are more comfortable than the CTC grips. I guess that is the compromise we get to live with.
