Re: OGC Questions

Got my invite as well. My two choices for classes were filled up and I am traveling the other date. Luckily they added a fourth date. Just waiting on confirmation on a seat in the additional class.

Re: OGC Questions

Just found out I am number 432 on the waiting list for OGC. I hope I make the cut. I sure spent enough on range fees there this summer and fall.

Re: Is the panic over?

A bulk pack of .22 for $50 at the gun show. I never did the math before I guess. I was thinking $4.99 for a box of 50 was a good deal. Recently I was at Walmart and they had Winchester bulk 333 rounds for $14.99 limit 3 boxes. I should have bought all three boxes on the shelf but I only bought 2 fi...

Re: ▐▐▐ Pistol - Target Practice locations

When my daughter took her firearms safety class I was surprised and by the number of adults taking the class alongside the kids. The DNR runs the classes as an online course in addition to the classroom courses. If you take the online course you just need to find a course that is taking the field po...

Re: ▐▐▐ Pistol - Target Practice locations

One nice thing, when you are talking your first firearm, about going to an organized and well run range versus just going out in the woods and shooting is you get initiated into safe range practices. See how a range is run, learn range rules, listen to range officers, observe more experienced shoote...

Re: Business idea

Legal issues aside... There are companies that do this with photography. The rent high end camera bodies and lenses, some of these lenses are $5,000-$10,000 and more. Not something most people own, but if you need one you can rent it. But that's a rocks and apples comparison for legal purposes. The...

Re: How do you empty powder measure?

Emptying the case and bullet feeders is much harder. You can't burn off the excess and it takes much more work to tip it out. Maybe if you did the math before you reloaded you wouldn't end up with extra powder in your measurer to begin with! I like to keep enough powder powder in the hopper to help...

Errors on scope nomenclature

How is it that, even in articles written by folks who seem to know their way around a firearm, hardly anyone can properly denote the power and magnification of rifle scopes? Just saw one noted as a "Zeiss black and silver 4.5 x 14 scope". That is a pretty small objective for a high end tar...

Re: Shooting on public land in MN

Have shot at Chengatana State forest a few times. For me the drive is four hours round trip. Kinda sucks. Just went to Rum River state forest last weekend, 2 hour round trip. Much better. had about 30 hard drives I needed to render useless. Mission accomplished. Also shot the hell out of numerous o...

Re: Winchester primer too small or primer pocket to big

Was it a .25 WSSM down to .223 therefore the folded neck due to sizing the case down?

Re: Winchester primer too small or primer pocket to big

Again, thank you Hoot. I am up and running. You even had a lone funky little case in there with a strange fold in the neck. They are beautiful. Now to just see how they shoot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/tcarlson99/300%20WSM/DSCF2934_zps6879f89d.jpg The one on the right is ...

Re: reloading stuff at Blaine fleet farm

I was just at the Oakdale store this evening after stopping by Joe's Bait to pick up the donated prizes for my Cub Scout fishing contest.

They also had a bunch of the 9x23.

They are in the same boat as the Hudson store. Lots of Hornady and RCBS stuff but not a lot from other manufacturers.
