Re: Gun control tour coming to Mpls.....

Does anyone have an estimate of the MAIG crowd peak size? The KARE 11 headline this morning said "Thousands to Attend". I see nothing in the photos close to that prediction.

Re: It's back! Gun Control Bill To Be reintroduced

I agree, GOCRA really took the reins, and I'm sure that only a few people are in the know on all the details, and the day to day maneuverings that must have taken place. I told Andrew during one of the first hearings, that the only thing keeping MN from going the way of CO or NY was GOCRA. We all r...

Re: Heffay was right

I agree that the antis will not go away. I hope we don't have any more mass shootings, ever, but I think that is unrealistic. They will push hard again the next time one occurs. In the absence of that, the legislature MAY be even a little less inclined to touch hot button issues next year with elect...

Re: Coburn BG Check Proposal

NO WAY JOSE! No infringement of the 2nd Amendment is the only thing I will support. How is this an "infringement"? How is it not infringement? PTC, PTP, NFA and NICs are all infringements. If it was not infringed we would be able to buy what ever the free market would support. I agree. Wh...

Re: Federal AWB Passed out of Judiciary Committee

It looks like we may scrape by without a ban this time. What I sincerely hope is that this is not all forgotten by the time we each enter the voting booth in November of 2014. There are choices we can make there that can prevent this from coming up again in the next session. While it may force us to...

Re: The Good Old Days

Found these in one of my old ammo cans the other day and just wanted to share. Bought from Target in the 70's when they sold guns and ammo. $ 1.77 for a 100 round box. I miss the Good Old Days !! I haven't bought any since the panic, but $1.77 in 1970 is the equivalent of $10.66 in inflation adjust...

Re: ND, SD, WI gun bill status?

Tell me where do you see this state improving things? I sure as hell , Dont have more freedom then years ago! I have lived here 90% of my 49 yrs. I've lived here for 100% of my 47 years, and I would say that the switch to "shall issue" CCW was a pretty big improvement. In fact, up until a...

They change the rules or ignore them. He knows he is safe for re election. In another thread I was told leaving the state was gi...

Re: It's clear that they talked to no one but FUDDs!

What has become evident to me is that there is a segment (not sure what percentage) of gun owners for whom the fight is not nearly as serious as it is for others. While many of us view gun restrictions as violations of our rights and threats to fundamental freedoms, there are those gun owners among ...

Re: Keith Ellison is a angry man

ahhh, voter id... the left went berserk when it was suggested we have some regulation of the important constitutional right to vote... Ironic that the same folks want to regulate and tax the h out of the constiutional right to bear arms. That's true. It's also true that there is a segment of the po...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

As a follow up to my previous post, I think we are sometimes a bit too quick to view our political opponents on this issue as naive or stupid because their proposals would be ineffective or not address the real issues. I tend to think that while the author of a bill or even some of the spokesmen may...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

The problem isn't that we don't have a way to do background checks, it is that fundamentally the concept of a mandatory background check MUST necessarily be tied to a paper trail - gun registration. You can't say "every sale must have a background check" and then not have a requirement to...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

Why couldn't they just allow NICS to be used by private sellers directly? I wouldn't mind being able to call in a buyer I don't personally know. The major issue, as I see it, is that that kind of access would allow possible access of private data to anyone who calls. I'm not sure what would stop so...

Re: SSRI drugs (Prozac) report mentioned at capital

Half of the legislators are probably on them. A good friend (retired neurologist) informs me that the antidepressants are way over prescribed to people who do not meet the clinical criteria for depression. What are these drugs doing to their heads? Same with pain medications. Oxycodone is one of th...
