Re: 2 inch snubby

I bought the 685. I consider it a belly gun for close quarters like inside an office or vehicle.

You stick it in their belly and pull the trigger.

Re: Snow/light goose hunting anybody?

Tried chasing them in the '90's out in North Dakota. We'd put on a ton of miles for a lot of shooting.

When they decide to cover ground, they are on the move. High and fast.

You'd follow a long ways before they'd come down .

Some incredible sights though.

Re: Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite 38 special.

The only thing I'd watch out for is the cylinder stop. I've had problems in the past with 2 Taurus 85Ul's with the cylinder stops breaking off under normal wear. They're cheap little MIM parts. It's not a hard fix, the S&W cylinder stops are usually readily available, and made of real steel. Do...

Re: Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite 38 special.

Paid $259 for a Taurus 685 last year. Let's you shoot 357 Magnum if you want a full power load.

Re: Do all Hunting rig, $1000 budget.

Make yourself a 4" plate.

Can't blame you for the selection. I'm out of touch with what's currently on the market for glass.

.308 is still a 1000 yard gun.

Re: Army chooses new pistol.......

For most people, it was to send in your gun and not get anything back for 9-12 months.

You were 4th on the list behind military, govt, law enforcement.

If they replaced it.

For identifying a problem and correcting it? Hm. Thought you drove trucks for a living, they never break down?

Or should I bring out the big crayons for you instead.
