If you have a plastic like buildup - try WD-40 it should release the stickiness... Than Acetone and coat the dies with a little hornady one shot aerosol for storage.

That is a fine looking shooter. This is one of the guns that you will never get rid of - ever. This is a basic in the collection that you must have. You could always dress it up with a mag tube extension and call it done, or change out the stocks for something plastic (I like Speed Feed Shell Carryi...

You are going to want to take that coating off of the bearing surfaces where the bbl meets the receiver as well as the threads where the mag cap is...

I vote for something much smaller. Folder for what you describe are his hobbies. Schrade single blade gunstock trapper. Most useful knife i own.

It used to be that the Taurus was the best buy in the case. I dont know how they are holding up to a few years of use - I would think that the Ruger would be a fine Pistol.
